I'm helping a teenager, whos black, get ready for the upcoming Mr. Wisconsin. I know this sounds stupid, but should he use any type of color. I've heard of black guys putting color on to give their skin a different look and consistancy. Is their any merit to this or she he just oil up?

She should absolutely use color...I don't know any who dont...especially if she's is "light skinned". Evens out skin tone, gives a deeper, more rich looking appearance, etc...

Thanks chick. He has really dark skin, but I figured it would still help. Would pro-tan be ok. Dream tan got banned from this particular show, as the promotors dont want any of the seats in the auditorium getting it on them. Thanks for the help.

For whatever its worth, I have a book called the pre-contest bible which has a section about tanning and all the black bodybuilders use some sort of tanning product (EG Protan).

have him/her shoot a couple jump shots in the sun. All the color you need.
-
I personally apply 3 coats of Protan the evening before the show

Yes a black competitor should use the protan.
