Just wondering.

Listening to 'Hustlers P.O.M.E.' by Jim Jones right now.

it was actually a marketing campaign used to earn dollars for the large corps, in this case the record companeis and Mtv.

The rappers who actually believed the crap killed one another over it and did all the legwork.

The white guys who edited it and put it on TV made the bucks and are now living the good life off the ignorance and hatred of manipulated groups of low grade subjects, and the millions of people who watched and paid for it with their Neisen ratings dollars.

kinda like this silly little war in iraq, eh? ;)

I was watching Run's House On MTV the other day and they had a party where Naughty by Nature and some others were on there. I miss the "fun" days of rap

The Sunni vs. Shiite antipathy really does seem almost Seussian in its ludicrousness from a non-Muslim perspective, doesn't it.

I often fantasize about addressing both sides and saying something like, "You do realize that you're both completely wrong, don't you?"

The whole hip-hop culture is hilarious because it makes certain people feel impowered and important. Further it creates an illusion that these people(mainly blacks) are well off in the US, when they're anything but. The whole hip-hop culture is just a way for corporations to make bucks, but people who are deeply into culture don't even realize this. They don't realize how irrelevant their shitty little culture is in the global scheme of things.

Sure, guys like 50 cent driving a Rolls makes people think that these people are on top. But statistically speaking in terms of per capita income, crime rates and education, they're on the bottom.

I seriously hope this hip-hop garbage goes out of fashion..

I read what you said and that about sums it up against all the hip hop rap fans who follow and believe what the rappers say in all their street slang. Besides Suge Knight and Dog Snoop, most of the other hip hoppers have never been gang members. They talk like they are gun carrying gangstas when in fact they all have bodyguards and walk around with their security detail at events they appear at. Rappers are one of the most devious types of entertainers because they first used their ultra urban music in the 90's to prove how much street credibility they achieved from the gangs and dope dealers and pimps and hustlers and career criminals who emulate them. Then they tried to expand their audience by making hip-hop look so cool and in style that they started appearing in Hollywood movies and designing clothes so they could sell themselves to everyone else who wants to give them commercial credibility and treat them like they deserve to be recognized.

Rap music and hip hop culture are good reasons to be at least very prejudiced towards black people who fit into the stereotypes that give them a bad reputation for being street thugs.

I couldn't agree more. These dumbasses bring racism onto themselves.

Baloney.  That's just plain silly.  People who are "prejudiced towards black people" because of rap and "the hip hop culture" are bigots period who look for an excuse to justify their hate.

And aren't a significant number of rap and hip hop consumers white?

Just the idiots speaking ebonics and not every black person.. I like people like jag, tre, tu and some old highschool friends, but I dislike 50 cent and Al Sharpton.

I hate wiggers too. Idiots from middle to upper class neighborhoods who wouldn't last one fucking day in a real ghetto.
