So it seems like lots of us on here have bad knees from years of going all out and doing crazy ass shit. what do u guys think is the best exercise for us with bad and aching knees but will at least still help us maintain some size on our legs.

db walking lunges....walking lunges allow you to move your torso straight towards the ground keeping your knees from pressure....they make you want to puke from the intensity but i think they are much safer than lunges where you lunge forward one leg at a time...just keep that knee from going past your toe

try bodyweight stuff like one legged squats and lunges for reps ... the low rep range is not the only way to increase the size and strength of legs (ask soccer players who have better wheels than most bb'ers)

you seem to be the expert "youandme"

I'm 39 and my knees bother me at times, but none of the leg exercises (squats, etc) bother me, if anything they seem to make the muscles surrounding the knee stronger and my knees more stable. When I don't work out for long periods of time is when my knees bother me. You need to use weight you can handle and check the ego at the door.

squats with wrapped knees.. ;D

Yeah i'd say try wrapping your knees up dude, worth a shot if you haven't tried it yet.

wrapping your knees will help immediately ... but in the long run it will make your tendons weaker

Hack squats with 7 plates on each side do wonders for my knees
