A friend of mine used to say what I'm about to pass on, and it's so true (but based in humor):

He's got a hard-on for that whammy bar!

The most amazing thing about Beck to me is nobody seems to even attempt to duplicate his sound. Must be crazy playing some of his songs for 40 years and having to get all those tricks dead on each time you play it.
