i would go with the one and the only tim commerford of rage against the machine..one of the best of the best.. 8)..just check out the bass line in this song..fucking amazing
-
Dude,
Are you seriously retarded? What is your musical knowledge history entail other than Rage against the Machine? You probably couldn't name at least 10 rock bands in the last 20 years that have sold at least 20 million records.
Ever heard of Geddy Lee, Les Claypool, or Tom Peterson from Cheap Trick, who invented the 12 string bass guitar?
Get a little more diverse in your musical tastes instead of nutt hugging some overly liberal, left wing preaching band.

yo, don't worry about shadow. He's going to die soon. He's going to be shot and his mother raped

Right.............so bands like Van Halen, Rolling Stones, or Zepplin don't sound good to you? Get out of that bubble you live in. When were you born, 1990?

yes i hate that old school rock shit.i was never a fan of old school rock..i used listen to extreme metal music such as slipknot, hatebreed, slayer and alot of other bands whose names i don't remember.i have heard each and every type of genre in metal music but now i don't listen to these extreme metal bands any more because they litreally gave me a headache..rage is by far the most perfect band of all time..it covers every type of genre such as from heavy metal to funk to rapcore to hard rock to alternative metal to alternative rock.i mean rage is the best of the best and i wish they come out with a new album

My uncle calls him Billy Sheeham cause he's such a whacker
-
check out my boy, TM Stevens if you old Metal-Funk:
-
nuff said and it's a short clip
-
more, with Paul Gilbert, one of the coolest things I've seen in awhile.
-
Too many good ones to narrow it down..
-Billy Bass Nelson, Parliament Funkadelic
-Raymond Early, Instant Funk, Philadelphia International/TSOP session musician.
-Marvin Isley, Isley Brothers
-Bernard Edwards, Chic
-
Andy Fraser
He's 18 in this clip, and was 17 when he created this solo (from min 4-5), one of the best and most influential ever. As mentioned in another thread, Billy Sheehan named his band, Mr. Big, after this song.
He also wrote "All Right Now" at age 17. Try to name another songwriter who wrote such a classic at such a young age.

Steve Harris used to have some great basslines in the early Maiden albums, pretty unique style but you would never call him the best bass player. Gregg Lake was cool as well.
