Title: Is the IFBB setting up the precedent for a Coleman win? MUSCLE TEARS?
Post by: TrapsMcLats on May 13, 2007, 09:28:39 PM
I don't know if this subject has been broached before, but last night's win by warren got me to thinking:

*NY pro winner is branch warren, has obviously torn lat, but apart from that looks pretty awesome, tons of muscle, great condition.

* Toney Freeman wins a couple shows earlier this year with an obviously torn pec that, albeit repaired, is still very noticeable, but also has incredible lines and symmetry and a good amount of muscle.

Now the IFBB has let Mr O's win with torn muscles before, dickerson, yates and franco all had torn muscles at some point during their mr o reign, but this year we've had, and i could be wrong, THREE shows now won by athletes with an obviously torn muscle. Is there another year where this has occured? Could the IFBB be setting the stage for Coleman to win despite his current injuries? I am thinking that yes, they are.  If these other guys are winning with tears, then it wouldn't be as shocking if and when coleman wins the O this year to give him his record which would A) make him win and retire, or B) set up a HYPER competitive MR O is 08 in which Coleman, Cutler, Victor and a slew of other athletes coud realisticly win it?

Just thinking...

Ronnie's torn lat had nothing to do with his loss to Cutler.

He was in horrendus condition, whereas Jay was just flat out sharper.

Coleman at 100% condition even with a lat tear, and Cutler has no chance.

And that didn't happen in 2002, albeit not with Jay?  The difference in 2006 was the injury.

No, the difference was that he had no one competiting with him. Levrone could match him on chest and arms but that was it. Ronnie murdered him on legs and back.

In 2006, Jay was just as big with better condition.

Now 2001 you have a legitimate gripe. Ronnie's knows he lost that year.

I wouldn't say so.  Not with Ronnie's back that year...in other areas you could make a good argument, but we all know the Mr. Olympia is won from the back.

See, you've got to look at this from a different angle...

This is great for Quasimodo guys like me with all sorts of mutant muscle shapes and insertions. As long as we get HHHUUGGEEE (gut and all), we've got a shot at the Big Time!

 ;D

I was touting you as a future Mr O from the moment I saw your pics

Why do you think Milos agreed to train you ? ;)
