mendy has the raw record, ryan seems more consistent and is lighter than the other two, gene has the shirt record. personally i'm a bigger fan of ryan's because his comp lifts are a lot more "legit" looking.

Yeah, Mendelson didn't pause his 715 bench, it was touch and go.

Don't get me started on this "shirt" bullshit.

What about James Henderson? 711 raw.

James Henderson is the best benchpresser in the history IMO.

Mendelson bombed again last week.  He opened with 1015, went to 1050 and then attempted 1100.  What a moron.  I would be surprised if that fool ever gets another lift in.  Ever.

Kennely is BY FAR the best of the three.Always wins, always gets lifts in.I really dont care what a guy claims he can bench in the gym,I care what he does at the meet, and Kennely never bombs.

Damn.

That's a name I haven't heard in ages.

Jim Williams benchpressed benchpressed 670+ lbs back in the 70's.

IMO James Henderson - Big James definitely lifted more, and is credited with a good gym lift of 730 or so as well as his record lift on 711 lbs.

To Williams credit: didn't weigh as much, and it was in the early days of powerlifting.

Only seen one clip of him pressing, and from what I saw, it looked like he wrapped his elbows hard.

Should've given him some lbs at least.

But strong mofo.

I think Arcidi is up there too.

he also did a very good 705 in front of a whole bunch of people at York Barbell in 1972.
