I personally don't believe so. Both are imploding this country.

There are differences in policy.

However, both are nomenclatura's, with the same kind of organisation, funding and most important, recruiting of new politicians.

The recruiting often comes from families of politicians, which makes politics sort of the new Aristocracy of USA.

Of course there are differences:

taxes
defense
the war on terror
health care
abortion

In the end there is no difference, they are going to do/say whatever it takes to be in power

That's interesting.

Do and say to whom?

I mean which people are the two parties making a play for?

My guess would be Big Business b/c it has the most resources and its interests now necessarily influence the interests of Washington and our country as a whole.

This is still a very informative writing:

WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.

A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small "inside" group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.
