Mike Fracios, gigantic guy who won a few pro shows including the Arnold but never hit it right come olympia time, lots of guys seem to think he could beat Cutler and would be up there today but he has some major intestinal problems if I remember right. Lifted some heavy ass weight from what I remember:
-
he was not natural.
-
monster 225 deadlift adonis challenge wieght...
-
I think it was ulcerative colitis, remember reading a big article about him in MuscleMag in the late 90s or early 00s. I think he would have been the guy to challenge Ronnie at the end of the 90s if he hadn't have gotten sick.
-
they should bring back the shorts and work boot look
-
coulda been a contenda.was winning show's right out of the gate, then got sick.i'd say against yate's crew top 4 easily in the olympia for a few yrs was possible.
-
any photos the are current? wonder what he looks like now.
-
I see him occasionally at the gym in Columbus. Decent sized guy but you'd never look at him and think he was once one of the top bodybuilders in the world.
-
that picture makes me want to order $3000 worth of testosterone and syringes, I must admit.

Francois was a true motherfucking monster.
Strong, too.
But, think about it, if it hadnt been for the colitis, something else might have given way,no?
Guy was great, though.

Check out the PBW episode (6 May 06), Mike discusses the illness that stopped his bb career.

Mike Francios, what can I say about this awesome bodybuilder.
It's a shame no one got to see his true potential. Super strong.
Could squat way over 700 pounds for lot's of reps. One arm
Dumbbell laterals with 110 pounds! He was strong in everything.
Awesome build, small waist and tons of muscle. His health problems
are really scary if you listened to the interview he gave. I hope
he is doing great. Sound like a cool guy and very humble. ;D

Natural Al, you wanna see the man in person? come on over to columbus next may for the annual Mike Francois Classic!
-
Does anyone know what happen to Mike Francios?
-

You ever thumbed through a Flex? The look never really went away, most individuals just grew some sense.

LOL. I thought that also.....shouldnt he be curling that ???
I think he was discovered on an episode of "american muscle" on espn. he won his area and had to compete against regionals.........maybe musclemania... :o
-
francois was awesome i heard he's a trainer/gym owner in ohio somewhere

90's had the best bodybuilders ever!
Perfect size, conditioning and structures.

Way better than Jay Gutler!!!
WOOOOSSHHHHH
better than Coleman too

Mike Francois was a Mr. O in the making. He would have unquestionably challenged Dorian, similar muscularity but better lines. The one thing that makes me wonder though---- get this, he lost the overall at the southern states championships to Jorge Betancourt who weighed all of 165lbs., can anyone explain this? lol.

Look, he was going places. That was a long time ago. Can someone post what he looks like today? Unfortunately, bodybuilders are a dime a dozen. When one dies, there is another to replace him. Succussful bodybuilders are a rarity. Why do you think Mike had health problems, it was not an accident.
Post a picture of him NOW and lets see what he looks like.
I admire our champs, but without the drugs, who are they?

Hmmm. You call this admiration? ::)

I just want to see what he looks like now, post injury. Did his wife leave him, whats he weigh, is he healthy. I understand that pro body builders are the highest level of the sport. I just wish the weren't dying because of the sport, lets tone it down a bit. The 80's had better bodies, real side chest shots, no bellies. Why should we put up with them now?
