hhahah you cant be serious toxic, i love researching 'paranormal' type stuff as much as anyone but you dont honestly believe time travel is possible, much less that we actually did it in the 40's??

Thats what I thought lol, but according to the article...

Quote
“The Grandfather Paradox [where you go back in time and kill your grandfather] is not an issue,” said Mallett. “In a sense, time travel means that you’re traveling both in time and into other universes. If you go back into the past, you’ll go into another universe. As soon as you arrive at the past, you’re making a choice and there’ll be a split. Our universe will not be affected by what you do in your visit to the past.”

It's simple. IF time travel can exist, it can only exist where the subject can go to the future. IF the subject could travel to the past, he/she would invariably alter events, effectively changing the future. Enough of this happening and our entire lives would be being revised on a continual basis.

Since I'm positive that my memories remain intact and constant, and my decisions today have consequences, I can plainly see that time travel to the past is impossible.

You guys are stuck in the box of assuming that time travel occurs only in this universe.  Expand your vision.

While I personally do not believe that it is possible - and I believe we'll destroy ourselves as a civilization long before we have the technology to reliably travel back in time...

I gotta think that *IF* it were possible and had happened, your memories (along with the planet around us) would change and you'd be none the wiser.

However, my money is on whatever heads into a machine destined for another time would turn into powdered smartguy pretty fast.

grandfather paradox..

ya go back in time and kill grandpaw

if ya go back in time and kill your grandfather were you born in the first place..!!  how would ya be?

well if you weren't born..then how the fuck did you travel back in time to kill him?  :D

anyhow..answer..

everytime ya make a change in the past a branch universe is created (string theory) with its own timeline..

Logic would dictate that this would happen so rapidly, I'd never be able to finish typing this message before it never happened.

Same ideals that allow for a high standard of living in the US are in place in NZ.. But that fucker is praising Marx and talking shit. If he were in a real socialist system then he'd have a 7.62 round shoved up his ass for spewing his nonsense.

Try and read the post through before you decide to share your wisdom.

Actually, I returned to Dumbfuckistan last year, and currently live in Cali.  Have you ever read Marx?  Or, like most Americans that bought into the capitalist propaganda, just assume that everything he wrote about is wrong.  His views on what capitalism would become are coming to fruition (accumulation of wealth by the rich, increasing percentage of poor, money trumping ethics and human relationships).
True communism has not yet happened (not in Russia and not in China).
