Use Pam spray cooking oil....
-
yup Pam, that's all you see back stage, lus it's easier to spray on that rub something on.
-
almond oil
-
Definitely don't use baby oil. It is sooooooooooooo runny.
Pam is great - I've used it, go easy on it though so it doesn't run.

butter or olive oil flavor?
-
pump n' pose is a good one - you apply it directly to the muscles ;)
-
Pam or muscle juice by Protan are the best choices. Hot Stuff also has some oil in it and it also is a vasodilator.
-
Nivia oil or Olive Oil.

Yes. They apply real easy and go on thin, so you are less likely to get washed out under the lights. Cooking spray is mostly what you'll see at the big shows.

Feels quite nasty and gross fyi

A bit of history here .... Back in the old days, the AAU would not allow "posing oils" in its sanctioned BB contests. Sweating was OK but you could not use oil of any kind.
So a few of us found out a way to do it .......
Here was the solution.
About three hours before the weigh-in/contest (back then the weigh-ins were held immediately before the event and there was no prejudging) you'd hop into a hot shower to open up your pores. Then get out and pat dry and apply a thin coat of baby oil mixed with oil of wintergreen. Then pat dry once again in order to make your skin look completely oil free.f
Then we'd hit the scales and relax because as soon as we started sweating just a little bit during the mandatories - all the oil would come out of your pores and highlight the muscle.
ANd all the while the judges would merely think, "That guy sure sweats a lot!"
But no need to play that game today as most anything today is legal and appropriate.
Other tricks we used were tennis balls taped behind your knees under heavy Levis during squatting contests (Odd Lifts in those days) would give you another advantage against your less than observent competitors.

HOT STUFF by the makers of Pro Tan...do a squirt test though on your forearm to see if your skin can tolerate it. WIll bring out vascolarity big time when you pump up and then get under the lights.
Also, Jan Tana has a lotion that I have not used but some of my figure gilrs love it! :D

What's "Vascolarity"?

Shoud also mention that baby oil alone will give you a "puffy look" under the lights. In an effort to avoid that, the old time contestants would mix baby oil and iodine which created a relatively tan appearance. There were no immediate taning agents back in them olden days.
I think that the first "tanning agent" used by bodybuilders was Dy-O-Derm which the undertakers used on cadavers to give them a "healthy" look at open casket, memorial services.
And I kind of recall that it was jeff Everson who initially made it available for BB contestants.

So the words "Jerking off" does it for you?

A non-spell checked version of "Vascularity"?? In other words, veins a poppin'
