Title: ferrigno
Post by: dzulboy on June 03, 2007, 10:34:01 PM
i use to live in small town in jersey and about 10 min from this was a place called ferrigno weights

anyway i bought my first set there when i was 16....great set  BTW

anyway i drove past it the other day    it's now ccalled Andy ferrigno weights or somehting to that effect....

i asked a guy who use to work there and he said  lou was trying to sue his own family for the profits from the store....(he had no ownership, his dad and brother do) on the grounds they were using his name to benefit from, hence the name change

Yep, this information is accurate.  I'm sure Lou had asked his brother to change the name before taking legal action.  Apparently his brother's wife was suffering from cancer at the time of the lawsuit.  In an MD, Lou's brother called Lou a scumbag in the letter section.

On PBW, when Bob asked Lou about the suit, Lou said he didn't want to talk about it, citing it was a personal matter - as if suing someone publicly is a private affair.  ::)

20 bucks, wasn't that his price for a signed autograph or to go on a picture with him?

yeah, there was an ice cream store in my town called 240 Flavors.  When I found out they were using my name, I tried to extort them for a lifetime supply of free ice cream.  When they declined, I poured deer urine on their front doorstep at irregular intervals until the odor destroyed their customer base and they went out of business.
