i thought she was supposed to get 45 days in jail, which was reduced to 25. how long did she serve? She should have gotten life.

The sentence could be shortened because of a state requirement that rewards prisoners for good behavior. Furthermore, Los Angeles County prisons are very much overcrowded. Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman, Steve Whitmore said, " Our jail is bursting at the seams." Whitmore also said that many female inmates have been sent home from prison after only serving approximately ten percent of their jail time.
An example of a shortened sentenced was that of Michelle Rodriguez. Last year this "Lost" actress was arrested for driving drunk in Hawaii. Like Hilton, Rodriguez also violated probation and was sentenced to sixty days in prison as a result. Due to overcrowding of the prison, Rodriguez was released hours after being sent to jail.

From TMZ.com: Paris Hilton has been fitted for ankle bracelet and reassigned to house arrest, after authorities determined to release Hilton from prison due to medical reasons, this according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept. spokesperson Steve Whitmore.
Whitmore says he cannot release details about Paris' medical issue due to confidentiality reasons.
