Here is a question - do you need a passport for the IFBB Montreal Pro Show on September 8th if you are coming into Canada from the USA????
The reason is that if a bodybuilder is competing and they do not have a valid passport, it can take up to 12-14 weeks now to get your password renewed, even for Mexico or Canada.
So lets check into this, so we don't hear that someone forgot to get their passport renewed because they didnt think they needed one for Canada.

Yes. I attended this show last year and you do need a passport.

Beginning January 23, 2007, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling by air between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda will be required to present a valid passport, Air NEXUS card, or U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Document, or an Alien Registration Card, Form I-551, if applicable.
As early as January 1, 2008, ALL persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and Bermuda by land or sea (including ferries), may be required to present a valid passport or other documents as determined by the Department of Homeland Security. While recent legislative changes permit a later deadline, the Departments of State and Homeland Security are working to meet all requirements as soon as possible. Ample advance notice will be provided to enable the public to obtain passports or passport cards for land/sea entries.

It would be nice to make sure that all competitors, photographers, writers and fans who want to go see the Montreal Pro bodybuilding show be aware of this, as yes, it can take 10+ weeks to get a passport renewed, unless you expediate it (which can cost $60-100 dollars)

Kamali is now on the no fly list for his extensive carbing up with pie filling regime. All that methane gas he might release out his azz close to a contest, might blow up the plane :o :o

Not to get into Canada until January 23rd of this year as Tim pointed out. And even then, only if flying. By January of 2008, a passport will be needed for automobile travel as well.
And none of this will do anything to prevent terrorists from coming in, just piss off ordinary people. :) Epic intelligence in the Bush administration.

Was that to copy and paste the information from that link? Ron probably did that since he makes those kinds of edits. It didn't change the spirit of your post though but I see your concern.
