Have any of you guys moved and looked for a new gym and there are idiots that run it. Generally they also include mornons that know nothing about the equipment and the trainers they have are fat and lazy? Most of the people at my new gym are generally busy talking to women instead of busy but call themselves bodybuilders...it just makes me chuckle when i see this....anyone seen worse???...

Most 24 hour fitness gyms are like that.
-
YES! It is pretty much been established personal trainers, for the most part, are completely out of the loop when it comes to fitness/building muscle. I've noticed most gym managers are on a power trip. They treat the staff and the customers like serfs in some medieval kingdom. Probably the first bit of authority they ever held heh.
Now, there was one gym I used to go to 6-7 years ago were the owner/manager was pretty cool. He updated the equipment and would come out on the gym floor and say hello. Never got in the way....just a simple "Hi, have a great workout". Grunting was allowed, deadlifts allowed, and they played loud techno music. Dude even put in the little paper towel racks and disinfectant to wipe down machines. hahaha, no towel nazi's like the gym I go to now. Depends on who is working the front desk though whether or not they towels lol! Besides this one guy....everyone else who ran the gym was pretty much clueless, asshat, or both. :(

Welcome to my Gold's gym..... :-\
Lazyest fucking people.
1) Trainers don't know shit. They are fat, but think their shit don't stink.
2) The cleaning staff, doesn't clean shit. No one picks up the weights.
3) The front desk people are clueless, and have the personalities of a rock in the hot sun.
4) the sales people have NEVER worked out, and it shows. I'd be ashamed to work in a gym and having love handles that stick out of my shirt.
I swear to god, there's this one spot in the men's locker room that hasn't been mopped in months.......then there's this empty can of "energy drink" just sitting by the smith machine...I wonder how long it will last...it's been a week and a half so far.

Lol!

Well it is a business....so i guess it's their business savvy that's important, and not their waste line. On the other hand, I've seen bodybuilders go into the gym industry...and just because they're huge doesn't mean crap when it comes to business.
Now if we're talking about personal trainers who are fat and lazy :o :-\

Exactly....i called up a Gold's Gym.....and the guy...was like "We, have weightttts and some machines"...then i ask him about what kind of equipment they have...powertech, Nautilus, Hammer Strength...etc,..he is Fucking clueless....no one on here needs a trainer....and he keeps talking about how good the trainers are and that his buddy needs some money...personal trainer i guess....i swear this guy was on something....he had no clue on how much it was...and i just walked out the door....it is sad what is happening to Gold's gyms

Exactly.

what gets me is, all these gyms want someone who has taken the nasm or those other accredited crap, but when you get in the gym all that shit goes right out the window, I personally feel 85% of trainers are not even qualified with their nasm cert in hand. Theres this one chic at golds venice, she has used every high-profile trainer in venice, often has more than 3 trainers, and she continues to look worse and worse each year, can people like this not look in the mirror and see they are clearly wasting time, money, and their brains on this bs these so-called certified trainers are telling her.

Seriously, WTF?
If I were the owner, or at least in charge, I'd be sure that shit didn't last a fucking minute there.

I changed 6 years ago. Former gym was run by some over the top volleyball nerd with no clue about weight training. One of the "employees" was a living statue, he could remain in a pose for several minutes, staring into nothingness. After that he woke up, walked a few meters, and hit another pose for minutes. Class act.

The Gold's I work at is like that, the owner is a compete douche who knows next to nothing about training and treat us all like we a child laborers from china. He wonders why sales don't go up when he has to keep hiring new people (especially managers) cause they can't stand putting up with his ass. He looks it at more of a business standpoint then a "hey this is a fucking gym and it's best to have people familier with gyms working for you then a guy that did sales at abercrobie and fitch". We also can't play hard rock or rap, so the real lifters hate it but then because it's not a pretty "fitness studio" most the women and old people hate it. My gym basically sucks and I straight up tell members I am cool with that i would never ever actually pay money to work out in that gym.

Lazyest fucking people.
1) Trainers don't know shit. They are fat, but think their shit don't stink.
Most guys don't like the 60+ yr old trainer in the mornings cause he's like 150lbs and like to give out advice to guys benching over 300 for reps.
2) The cleaning staff, doesn't clean shit. No one picks up the weights.
Usually the staff doesn't clean shit other then machines or wiping shit down, It's up to a seperately hired cleaning company to take care of that shit. We have had many problems in my gym with crap like that. I actually just got fed up last week because of the closers not putting the weights back after I had to unload over 1300lbs (23 45lbs plates alone) and snitched directly to the one of the owners after I failed to get it into the head of the morons who close.
3) The front desk people are clueless, and have the personalities of a rock in the hot sun.
True, true. I was left out of the loop for a while cause I open but now that I have been working at my gym the longest it's no longer a problem. Thing is most of the time the manager fails to pass on info to the desk people (doesn't help they change every 3 months). Also mostly only hot girls get hired without checking out their personalities first.
And to add a few things, we have not fixed the broken ventilation system in the mens or womens locker rooms in over a year. Took about until almost a month into summer before they got the A/C fixed. Over 2 months to replace a broken t.v. but looks like they are going to break that record with the most recently broken t.v. (did I mention the other gym this guy owns just got all new plasma t.v.'s). Gym owner won't even fork up a little over a 100 buks to buy an atachment for a t-bar row (forget even asking for a machine) unless we do over $50,000 in a month which is equal to a very good January the best month for sales. The things can go on and on, it's sad and a disgrace. I HATE MY GYM!!!
-
hahahaha, "mikethe machine" ::) another clown who needs everything to be perfect to workout, TV's clean floors, 60 degree AC, and the famous Tbar hahahahaha, just do some barbell rows and STFU.

You try so hard anymore these days, it used to come natural to you... :-\
I prefer the "dungeon" type of gym but the point I was getting at is the owner doesn't cater to BBers really but since he doesn't get the gym up nice he also doesn't really cater to the fitness bunnies or seniors. He wonders why he gets so many complaints and it's cause he doesn't know how to run his business. Hell most the memebers have never even seen him or know who he is. He has only been in the gym three times I can think of in the past 9-12months....

i wasn't trying to be funny just honest, guys like you need every little thing to be perfect to train, dollars to donuts says you're the type of guy who complains that your gym doesn't have 180 pound db's when your top set of db inclines is with the 90's.

Well lets see, I think my gym is to "neat for my liking" yet I hear ALOT of complaints that it's too dirty. I worked out in my garage for almost almost 2 yrs and I liked that atmosphere, I would love to be able to train at Metro Flex in Arlington Texas. Me and my manager are attempting to get the owner to go up to 150lbs on the db (only go to 120lbs now), we as well as some members need something heavier for rows, presses, shrugs etc...)

Honestly no not yet, I am not the kind of idiot who picks up weight that's to big and try to impress people. Right now the most I usually go up to is about 110-120lbs depending on how I feel, and that's for working reps not maxing out.

What's a mornon? Is that a religion based in Utah?

hardcore types like us.
you look like complete shit old man

What I hate is the middle age women who just run their mouths and gossip. My favorite is when they are actually talking DURING their set. Or the people on their cell phones.
I've been training for over twenty years and competed a while back. I can honestly say that I don't talk to anyone while I'm at the gym. Not that I'm unfriendly but I'm there to get my workout in and then get out.
