is my unfortunate responsibility to report that WWE Hall of Famer Sherri Martel (real name Sherri Russel, better known as Sensational Sherri) has died. Martel, best remembered as one of the top female managers of all time, worked alongside Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, and Ted DiBiase back in the 1990s with the WWF.
Martel made the move to World Championship Wrestling in 1994 where she worked alongside Ric Flair during his feud with Hulk Hogan, later moving on to manage Booker T and Stevie Ray as the Harlem Heat tag team.
Sherri was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame during WrestleMania 21 weekend in Chicago, IL and made regular appearances at conventions and media events. She was only 49 years old. The cause of death is not immediately known.

WTF?
Jesus.....not another performer.
RIP Sherri.

This is sad, man. Seems like all the folks I grew up watching are dying.....and too young at that.
She was one of my favorite performers. I fucking hated her as a kid, which meant she was doing her job.
Condolences to her family and friends.
-
My condolescences as well. She used to scare me, but I always thought she was fucking hot (MUCH hotter than the late Elisabeth). SHIT, they're both dead now.

HAHAHa, yes!!!!!!! This is an open hand slap, is this fake? You think this is fake? HAHAHAHa All little people should be slapped around like that :D
-
She used to feud with Wendy Richter during the mid 80's.
I don't think this applies to her but pro wrestling is brutal on the human body. I may be entertainment and fake but I really respect what those guys put their bodies through to put on a show.
I'm sure Karl Kox, who's dad wrestled professionally has an opinion on this.
-
I met her in 2004 on a show I worked at. Real nice lady. RIP
-
they are now saying that her death may not be natural :'(
-
bad make-up but a good performer
-
I've seen no post from Karl Kox, is he too busy "cracking one off" to comment on this?
-
she was class, an hot . RIP

Good moment, but a total work. Just like the "montreal screwjob".

Having worked w/ athletes from many differing sports, I can honestly say professional wrestlers take the "largest cumulative pounding" (year to year) than any other professional sport.
Athough wrestling is clearly scripted/fake............the injuries are definitely not.
As a result, many wrestlers get hooked a strong pain Meds, alcohol and drugs to dull the constant pain. This lethal combination has taken many before their time.
RIP Sherri.

Curt Henning "Mr. Perfect" wasnt fake. All those vingettes he did were real.

Curt was a great guy, but also fell into drugs to dull his pain.

Now I'm not sure it that's the same clip, but Schultz cuffed John Stossel 2x, knocking him to the floor. They used to play it on the opening montage for the news show 20/20.
Stossel sued the WWF, then settled out of court for $40,000.00.
If that is, in fact, the Stossel clip, then it's no work. It's the real deal.
