sitting at the bar with friends, waiting for your table when an elderly (85+) couple comes in. The woman clearly struggles to walk.
Do you:
A. Offer your chair to her?
B. You and your buddy offer your chairs to both of them?
C. Ignore them?
D. Other?

i'm hoping that this is an issue for a good reason . . . perhaps you're a senior citizen yourself, or have some other condition that makes it essential for you to sit.
otherwise, there's no question that you give up your chair.
-
A B and -(-D (depending on the situation)
-
well, i guess the older couple might not want to sit at the bar. you still offer though . . .

stella, my dad says that the green bay packer guy who wrote names on his towel was actually contemporary of LT . . . i thought it was earlier b/c LT was still big when I first started becoming a serious football fan.

We were out tonight with our elderly friends/neighbors. As we were putting our name on the waiting list, some chairs at the bar opened up (it’s the only place to sit and wait). As we approached the 2 chairs, two men (40 something) sat down. It didn’t look like they saw us approaching, but clearly noticed our friends as we ordered drinks. It was all I could do not to spill my red wine on their pressed khakis. >:(

Personally I would have asked the "gentlemen" if they wouldn't mind offering their chairs to the elderly couple. Especially if they saw them and did nothing...it would make them look like asses for not offering in the first place.

people must give up their seats to you and michael all the time . . . :P

Have I already eaten?

I would probably give them the seat. Depends on how hungry I was and so on.
I can drink standing.

D: I would mercilessly pwn them by ridiculing their physique and lifts.

A or B.....or better still, call a waiter/server over and have them get chairs for them asap. This way everyone is happy and comfortable.

that is freaking hilarious...
Anyways to answer your question, I would have at least offered my seat. I ALSO would have embarrassed the dudes at the bar who wouldn't give them up.
Back in my "bouncer" days I would carry eye drops (regular "get the red out" type) and when I encountered a jerk (rude before he was drinking, woman "handlers" ect..), I bought him a drink...added about 3-5 drops and left with a smile and the knowledge that he was about to have the most wicked diarrhea and cramps he has ever experienced. Had one guy shit his pants later that night...guess he thought he could fight it.

Trust me, I came this l l close, >:(, but I was afraid it might embarrass our friends :-\ Fortunately, the wait wasn't terribly long.

I would offer my chair to the lady and hopefully one of the other guys would do the same for the man.... it called being a gentlemen and being thoughtful...
