Title: Do you get the most intense workouts to Heavy Metal or Rap?
Post by: Bluto on June 23, 2007, 03:50:36 AM
Discuss this important subject.

Ronnie works out to both, so I guess he gets best of both worlds.

Marcus Ruhl on the other hand, lifts to some of that german techno shit.

For workout intensity its gotta be Heavy Metal.  Who wants to workout listening to a song about shooting niggaz or dealing crack?

Um right. ::)

well lets see, having dj's in the gym started with gay gyms going back over 10 years ago, And now there in straight gyms. Hmmmmmm

Same as straights taking over the meat packing district and 28th street (not to mention the village). See the gays do it, realize its cool, and then copy them. To bad they ruined both neighborhoods.

glad you think its obvious, it is.  And why not care?  You know that it is only a matter of time before Planet Fitness and other chains will take the idea and mainstream it, making money and never acknowledging the creators. When something is taken, stolen then crassly commercialized it is not a good thing. And when the person or culture created the idea can't even afford to eat of live in NY or even work out at the gym, it is sad.

It is not just a gay thing it is all artistic and creative people.  It is an American phenomenon. Their ideas are stolen, sold and ruined by people who dont ever acknowledge it, and the creators are still marginilized as freaks.

Im not starting a beef with you personally pumpster you seem like you are already aware of this.

Fur running or any kind of cardio - techno, trance, industrial and some inspirational soundtrack music (eye of the tiger, europes "final countdown").

Fur lifting - usually pantera, slayer, iron m, rammstein, etc. with a bit of eminem in there for that "pissed off trailer white boy" energy.

Sorry fellas, but if you want to get after it in a fashion that welcomes supersets, dropsets and an elevated heartbeat, you need to tap into house/trance.  It destroys rap...old school...new school...prep school (just kidding)...

Seriously, even if you all don't like house/trance music, the stuff will get you going during a workout.

Yep House/Trance is great for cardio.  Take about 4-5 hits of weed and find some nice ass (female) in front of you on a treadmill and just zone the hell out.
Metal for lifting though. ;D

Both metal and rap.

Pantera, Jay-Z and certain early tool songs for weights.
Guns N' Roses for cardio.

Pantera has provided me with many intense workouts.  Slaughtered and becoming are 2 of the best for heavy squatting.

Mostly metal but I sometimes get a good workout to rap if the rapper is reall pissed at the police and rapping really fast.  Otherwise I listen to classical.  I get reall phsyced up with Cannon D by Pachelbel and Invention #13 by Bach.  If I am maxing out on a lift I listen to Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.  I go phyco when I listen to that one.
