I guess you could put the Stones there too, even though they are still going strong.
-
Yes. Queen, Pink Floyd, Stones all great in the 70's. The 70's Bruce Springsteen was good also.
What else have we got?
-
I was never a big Stones fan at all, and I tend to like them less and less with every year that they continue to tour. :-\
The Eagles were great in the 70s, and I hesitate to even say it cuz I will get no support on this one, but I am a HUGE Deadhead, so of course there is no band that could ever top the Grateful Dead for me. 8)
-
Blondie! Debbie Harris was a cool chick. 8)

Fleetwood Mac. Supertramp. Gotta throw a little disco in it with Donna Summer.

Yes, but they kind of struck me as a one-hit-wonder with that song, unless I am just unfamiliar with the rest of their stuff. Great song BTW!

The 70s was a great decade for music...almost makes me wish I was old enough to enjoy more of the music live during that decade, but then that would make me even older now. :P
I didn't get a chance to catch much of it live, although I do remember my parents dragging me to a Sha-Na-Na concert. Anyone else remember "Bowser"...was that his name? ;D
And my dad loved KISS during the late 70s...I have to admit, I did too.
-
The Sweet, Slade, The who.
Ah yes DP The Who was truely one of the best bands of the 70s along with Zeppelin, Yes, Genesis and Sabbath

hahaha Does anyone remember the Sha-Na-Na Show?
Hahaha that's exactly what I was talking about!!
My parents took me when I was really young, and all I remember is this "Bowser" dude, or whatever his name was, who had soooo much grease in his hair that he used to run his hands through his hair and you could see the grease fly off his hands and splatter on the floor next to him! Amazing that I remember that cuz I think I was like 5 or 6 years old.... :D
-
Jesus what a bunch a fossils that hang around here....
I'm surprised any of you still go to the gym with the imminent danger of breaking a hip...

If someone has some knowledge about 70's music, doesn't mean that they're old. Some people like Mozart, what does that tell you, my simple friend?
Something tells me that you're not the sharpest tool in the shed. :-\

LOL, I hate to agree with you [as you are my newest arch enemy ;D] but I thought the same thing.

According to "nzmuscleworshipper" you could only like Muddy Waters or Chuck Berry (50's music) when you're about 60+ years old or so. ::)

Lynyrd Skynyrd

Too bad 90% of the bands that just came out in the last 10-15 years suck ass.

Yup. One of the first records I ever bought with my own money was SABOTAGE. That was it for me, rocker for life.
-
The Sweet, Slade, The who.
You have to be British David Paul.

I'd agree with that

I'd agree with that
Glad it isn't just me that sees it that way. Other than some bits and pieces from a few bands, Fear Factory is about the only band I've really gotten into over that time period.

how about Arch Enemy?

They're ok, nothing from them really grabs me though, not quite thumpy enough or something.
The chicks vocals kind of grate on me for some reason.

I like the music, not big on the vocals either. Earlier music had a male vocalist.
If you can find anything from them, a local band, Ambergine, music is awesome, and the vocals aren't too bad, high school kids or just out of high school now.
going on tour, had 1000 cd's printed, 10 bucks seemed like a bargain.

no one even close to zeppelin.
I prefer Sabbath, I cant stand when Zep sings about some sissy ass dungones and dragons shit
