Title: Chris Benoit murders
Post by: Beener on June 26, 2007, 05:58:12 AM
The second i heard about these murders lat night, i knew they'd start saying roid rage. Lo and behold, this morning while I was driving to work, the guys on the radio started makin cracks about it being roid rage.

You guys better watch out, cuz apparently steroids make you slaughter your family..

On that note, I hope it wasn't a murder-suicide as they say, Christ Benoit was cool, and I'd hate to think he'd kill his family.

Over and out

OMG! It is true! i'm shocked!

I saw Benoit many times live and took my brothers to see him every time he and wwe came to Finland. Why the hell would someone do something like that, he has seriously flipped...

Also he was pretty young (not to mention he's family).

Obviously the "steroid connection" has already been made.

The family slaughter/suicide thing is nothing new. Exists in all cultures Im sure. The Thais go off now and them, a hammer or machete will do fine. Steroids? Optional.

I've heard he had drug problems and flipped out all the time. it sucks they will tie this to gear instead of his meth habit.

Funny enough they did a "tribute" to him the other day... and everyone says how much they loved him and how great he was and "RIP" and other kinds of bullshit....the bastard killed his fucking SON!!!! ...and wife (which is bad as well). But to kill your own KID?????

FUCK R.I.P. - I hope he burns in hell.

Ya, It's F'n awefull. No sympathy for him but everyone has vicious evil capability in them if pushed, or if the old brain just fails. ANyone that ever visited on a Psych ward a few times knows the score there.
My one Bro has had to have the Whole VA ward to take him down, and just when you think ya got him, Watch them teeth ;)! Bad shit. Wrestler, BBer Weight Lifter. He's pretty normal these days, and there's some guys there who make him look safe. No excuse or sympathy for meth use if that's what tripped him.

Steroids build muscle. they don't make you pick up cord and strangle your family. Ludacris.

Roids are like money, they make you more of what you already are. If you are a raging asshole, roids will make you a bigger ragin asshole. Roid Rage myth is just as bad as those stupid commercials on ESPN about steroids and youth. The media has painted this portrait about roid rage and the evils of steroids, stupid.

That is stupid. Very stupid. Thats like saying everyone that kills is on steroids. Ludacris.

Hope you were agreeing with me how stupid it is. I think it is stupid to say steroids were the culprit. All I was saying is if you have a bad attitude to begin with, roids can enhance it. Does not mean we are all seriel killers

If everyone who even ABUSED  steroids killed 1 person, the  grave diggers would still be tryin to catch up!

One politician here, ex wwe wrestler said couple of years back that if AAS would make people kill, we all would have been extinct long ago.

Roids have been known to cause depression so it is quite possible that his use of the drug played a role.

That said, regardless of what his problems may have been he murdered two innocent people - he's scum.

This is such an  aweful shame what has happened.
I think before we start saying bad things about Chris, lets wait to see what really happened!
What is kinda strange is that he did not kill them both at the same time, and then he seemed to have waited almost a full day before killing himself.
We will see the story unfold over the next few weeks.
Also, how do we know meth was involved ?
All I have heard or seen on reports was that they have all legal perscriptions .
I never heard anything about meth being involved.
I know there are alot of drugs in the wrestling business due to their lifestyles.
They are on a very demanding schedule , contantly on tour and wrestling 3-4 times a week sometimes.
That will take alot out of you , and will cause alot people to take pain killers, steriods, stimulants, and downers very quickly.
There have been so many deaths lately in this business from what I have been seeing lately.
One of his best friends Eddie Guerero also died about about 2 years ago. I just read it was from heart failure.
I know Eddie used to have a big time Pain Killer problem, maybe that caused his death , maybe not.
Watching Raw Last night , and seeing all of the other wrestlers so shaken up over this even made me get chocked up a few times watching T.V.

Ya the news in my home town is just ragging on the whole steroid thing. Even in a CNN report i read they go on for a paragraph how their going to investigate how steroids probably cause this. On the very first line on the paragraph after they blame steroids they go on to say that police have no evidence on why he did this? Its total assumption on the media's part. If it where truly the case would doctors prescribe HRT with the chance that it might cause some sort of murdering blind rage??? I think not

Eddie Guerrero had MAJOR rec. drug issues and died of OD. From what i understand Chris had very difficult time after Eddie's death.

Makes me sick how the media sensationalizes this and wants to blame steroids.  How ridiculous!  No wonder the public has such a negative view on them.  The news says they turn you into a murdering psycho.

To bad The Big Boss Man was not there....this whole thing probally could have been prevented  ;D

I personally inform and educate neighbors who like/ respect me about all the  bogus Steroid BS.
Most guys have at least some passing interest in sports and know that AAS use is endemic there.
Not letting your buds who use this stuff get out of line is good idea to.
Even My very religious attorney neighbor, who home schools his kids thinks the "Steroid" issue is all BS.
I help him w/ his kids dry land training for swim comps.
Not everyone out there is a idiot, don't make a bad image is the best thing.

In life it is always easier to blame what you don't understand.

Gang violence is alot of the time blamed on rap music and weed, which is a joke, who the hell goes out and gang bangs because of a song? Do you see people going out and getting into bar fights because of a song Toby Keith might have written, or do you see someone becoming so infatuated with a boyfriend/girlfriend cheating that they go out and demo that persons truck as Carrie Underwood says in her song....NO.

It is the person and what is in there head and the emotions they have inside them. No drug such as AAS will make you have roid rage, to the point of killing someone, sure it might make you get more upset or curse and yell at someone, but it will never make you get to the point of killing them, not to say it has never happened, it's just something I've never heard of. I've never been to the point of wanting to harm someone to that point of death and I've been on it for 15 years.

As far as Meth or crack or Coke, ya I could probably see it putting you in a sense of higher state of consiousness, hence the reason people kill themselves on it as they think they are above death. Or killing someone as the reality of the situation may not be there to them at that point.

I can speak from past experiance as I have met Chris a couple of times at shows and such back in the day of the Calgary Stampede. He was always very quiet, but very intense about his job, he reminded me alot of Val Kilmer and how he is a perfectionist. He loved the buisness and what he did. As far as the comment about Eddie Gurrero, I would only assume that he took it hard as it was his best friend and he was like a brother to him. But Rey Mysterio was just as close, and this hasn't affected him like this.

Bottom line is you are your own person and only Chris will know what pushed him to this state and what caused him to do what he has done. I don't agree with it nor do I condone it...but it's happened and that's something that all of us will have to deal with...friends, family and fans alike.

R.I.P Chris as you will missed by wrestling fans everywhere and thank you for the memories of all the famous matches you wrestled, the man help put wrestling on the map in Canada.

Yeah--can't wait to see all the proposed "medical experts" who will jump at the chance to be on TV and talk about the role steroids played in this--a topic they know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about.

People are so glued to what the their TV tells them that they believe all the negitive talk about steroids from news anchors to so called "experts". Then when they run ads about how dangerous steroids are, what is the general public supposed to think? If Chris did have a problem with perscription drugs or rec., then why not bash those as well or blame them??

And since Big Boss Man was not there, he has to now deal with the Undertaker  8)

It's weird, someone can go nuts, kill a bunch of people and even take their own life, and if steroids are found, it's automatically deemed the culprit. Funny thing though, their are bazillions of these lunatics who have done the exact same thing, who have never touched a performance enhancing drug in their life. Maybe we should blame all acts of grotesque behaviour on steroids...maybe the courts missed something, maybe Scott Peterson was on a high level of HRT :P

Just about every WWE wrestler that is main event caliber are on some kind of gear.
Rather it be GH or juice, they are on something.
Did anyone notice Chris Masters when he first came out ? He could barely wrestle, but he looked great.
I heard he got a bad blood test with very high liver enzymes, so he took a month off. When he came back, he looked like shit. He must have lost at least 50 lbs.
Now he is back juicing again for sure.
It is night and day what he looks like now compared to about 4-5 months ago.
Look at the backs of most WWe wrestlers next time you watch them on T.V. They all have tremendous zits all over their backs. They try to cover it up with instant tan, but you can still see the volcanoes on their backs.
I would have to say probally the only wrestler not on gear may be Sean Micheals. He was way bigger years ago before he hurt his back. It is kind of funny watching him beat out these guys that are twice his size.
Just wait until HHH comes back. Remeber the last time he was out for a year from leg surgery?
He came back looking like a tank. I just saw him on Monday  , and he is juiced to the gills again!
I am sure it partly him trying to come back from his most recent knee surgery.

You are right, they all juice. When masters came back from his "break" he looked like a joke, small and soft.
AAS are a big part of wrestling, allways was and will be.
