Frankie is the one who bought his wife the mink coat and DeNiro got pissed at him for spending money right away and told him to take it back.

carbone was also in godfather 2 ,he's vito's amici during his 1st scenes as an adult,they go to the watch a play and that's when vito sees the black hand for the 1st time.

yep that's right, he was seeing the daughter of the theater owner who Don Fanucci was extorting money from.
