grizzlies can swim, and hippos do well on land . . . they could meet at a zoo, if that's ok w you.

Is this a metaphorical battle, representing your current work situation?  If so, are you the hippo, or the bear?  ;D

If not, I'm going with the hippo.  Bears can decapitate a moose with one swat, but the hippo is extremely vicious and has a very tough hide.  They're fast too, just like the grizzly. It's def a close call though, I would say.

nope, not metaphorical . . . i don't identify w either creature particularly.

I'd have to go w the hippo too.  Nasty temperament, giant tusk-like teeth, enormous bite force, extra-thick hide (like the bear). the average male hippo is at least twice as heavy as the average male grizzly and has a prize-fighter's neck to boot.

hopefully the PETA chicks will start stripping to prevent animal cruelty as soon as they get here.

I'm really getting into this . . . I'm going to see if there is a way for me to promote a fight b/w a hippo and a grizzly in some 3rd world nation.  The Real Rumble in the Jungle.

Shouldnt be a problem most of the world over IMO. They "Bull Fight" in my wifes country. That is, 2 waterBuffs fight each other.
I dont know what'd B worse shiping the Griz or the Hippo.

those carabaos have some long ass horns. 

Shipping either would be a bitch.  Maybe I'll start small and buy the hippo from a local zoo . . . I've seen those suckers in zoos all over the 3rd world.  Probably b/c they're used to life in the tropics.  getting a decent sized grizzly would be a bitch b/c of US/Canadian regs. 

Maybe it can be a polar bear-hippo match, but a polar bear doesn't have the bone density of a grizzly and will probably get bit in half about 10 seconds in.
