Title: Over 35 years bodybuilding days, still in the iron game
Post by: musclecenter on July 04, 2007, 08:19:52 PM
Hey all,
My name is Huang ,I have lifted weights since 1970 when I was 17 years old.(now 54)
Even though my bodybuilding records isn't sterling (Mr.Taiwan in late 1970s & eary 1980s ,3rd in L-heavy Asia Championships 1986) I still maintain a strict workout schedule.

Bodybuilding is a lifestyle .

I'm not some old fart living in the past--the present and who I am now is what's important.
I just care what I look like today.
So I have posted today's pics to encourage you guys here at Getbig.com.

I look forward to positive comments .

I used to lift for 3 years, then I started making good money. Then I got married.

I realized lifting isn't important to being successful or getting pussy. I win hahahahaha

Dude you are a troll.  Quit the gimmick already.

Key Phrases that give you away:

I'm not some old fart living in the past

..Both of which would not be used by a Japanese man of that age (Assuming late 50's/early 60's a'la Vince Basilie)

We need the older bodybuilders to keep it real.  For once, I would like to hear a bodybulder say:

"....years and years of eating clean, hard work in the gym, constant dedication....and when that didn't work I put more needles in me than a voodoo doll."
Title: Re: Over 35 years bodybuilding days, still in the iron game
Post by: musclecenter on July 05, 2007, 09:02:38 PM
hey guys,
I really train very hard and eat clean everyday !
I always tell my gym's members :No excuse !No bulls**t ! Train hard or go home !

Some guys here just under their "user name" and speak whatever they want .
but I use my real name and I say what I mean !

Here are another 2 pics (one was 1986,another is  months ago)

Congratulations Mr Huang!

I hope all getbigger's will also 'see the light' and keep training in their 30's, 40's, 50's and beyond.

But it is a very hard slog to train year in year out.

How do you keep training and not get exhausted?!?!?!?!

I've just had a six month 'rest' and just about to cycle up again (the training ...not the juice).

Yes------it is hard to go constant when you go heavy and give it 100% and not be juiced !!!   I find the layoffs from time to time beneficial------I have kept the injuries away, and I dont have the chronic aches and pains that are associated with continuous heavy lifting.I Think the best bet , however to avoid long layoffs is to condense your workouts with shorter workouts and lighter weight workouts------you wont be as burned out, and you will still reap benefits !!!  Good luck !!!

I advise older lifters to try to keep the hypertrophy process active. Keep something in your muscles growing. That is about as close to the fountain of youth that we can naturally approach.

as long as you older guys dont hump in the air in between sets of benches in the smith machine, wear extra small 70's adidas shorts and do a lot of stretching im cool with it

Thanks everyone ,
It's very difficult to keep training all year round and over 35 years !!
I always say that you need the "3 D's" (Determination,Discipline,Dedication) in your bodybuilding life.
Yes, I feel frustrated and get exhausted with my chronic injuries :http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=117526.75

(I said before I am a lifetime natural body builder. This means no juice at all, and I'm not against anyone here using the stuff--it's your personal choice.  i'm just here to say that it can be done.)
