the mark that it's a fake, so i've been told, is that the bar bounces far too much when he re-racks it after benching. that said, it's entirely possible they just used a cheaper bar for the bench to make it look more impressive because a 572 bench is damn impressive, but far less incredible than the squat and deadlift so i don't get why they wouldn't just give him a 300kg bench. also if you look at just HOW his lifts go, he's clearly lifting at or near his maximal ability on every lift so even if they are fake we're talking some weird method that gives him his max lifts while adding more fake plates for added impressiveness.

given that guinness has verified it, i'm saying it's hard to tell. the fact that he hasn't entered sanctioned meets means fuck all. of course he doesn't look nearly as developed as his compatriots in that level of lifting, so that doesn't speak well for it. then again, i'm a touch inebriated so who knows. i'd LIKE to think it's real, but that doesn't mean it is.

I don't know if guiness has certified the amount of weight, but let me give my take on it. I work with metal and the fact that he has the squat bar on basically two upright posts with no fron to back stabilization raises an alarm. With 900+pounds you would think he would want his supports to be steady, and they seem to be very steady when he sets 900+lbs back down on them. The bench seems really fake, like you said the bar bounces entirely too much, I've seen 1 guy bench 535 and the bar didn't bounce anything like that. The deadlift on the other hand, the bar didn't bend near as much as it did on the squat, I wonder why. Also for what it's worth, you cannot see any markings on the plates, no #'s or kg's.

Assuming that the weight is real, it looks like it might be. That is just insane how he does the squat and the bench press with no spotters, the guy has serious balls to do that.

Looked pretty heavy to me. His squat form wasn't bad either.

Read the youtube comments. A russian guy comments that Valantin is known for spoofs and circus tricks.

Ergo, a fake vid.
