Does he retire?
Does he come back in 2008?
-
Depends what he looks like. Honestly if he doesn't best his 2003 performance, retiring is the way to go.

in the whole 'legacy' sceme of things, that makes sense.
But Ronnie probably could make top 10 at the O for the next 3-4 years, realistically. Even flawed and smaller, he's freakier and bigger than most guys onstage.
He'll still get some prize $, still get appearance fees, still get the BSN deal.
I don't think he'd quit. I think he'll keep doing it til he stops placing in the $.

That's half retarded. There's got to be ways to capitalize on his "O" reign other than by competing. What if he teamed up with Lee Haney or Yates and sold supps?
If he doesn't already have his retirement lined up, that's a shame. I'm betting he's in ok shape financially, he doesn't seem to live too plush.
-
He is one guy who seems like he genuinely loves bodybuilding and loves making a living from it. He will continue if he feels he can still be competitive.
Will he make more money when he retires if he retires while on top like most of the previous champions or if he retires after a number of lack luster appearances? I think he should quit while he is ahead of the game.

Sergio competed way past his prime.
I could see Ronnie doing the same.
He lvoes to compete, to train, to meet people, sign autographs, make money.
Will he be a rock star when he's retired? Not as much as he is now.
I seriously doubt Ronnie wants to be another skinny guy with a big head signing autographs at a booth. I think he'll be onstage til he stops placing. He's still better than 99% of the bodybuilders on this planet, even if he's not in his 98 or 03 form.
-
I still don't know why he lost from jay synthol smooth marsmellow arms.
-
there not need for him to disappear, he should not quit or retire but continue being a living legend, cultivate his brand, make money and walk around shows like shawn ray does so well.

He's more likely to get fat than skinny, methinks.
I don't think he'll quit as long as he places top 3. As long as he's got a shot to win, he'll be up there.
-
If he's coming back for this year, I have no reason to think he won't do it again in 2008.
He'll still be the 2nd highest paid bodybuilder for the next few years no matter what happens.

Agree.. What else could he do that'd make him the same amount of money. Even, if he's not #1 he'll be a top two or three for awhile. He'll make a killing guestposing; People want to see size and he'll still be the biggest, the Victor Richards affect.
He reminds me of Holyfield. A guy who'd probably do what he loves for free and do it till he dies regarless of what people say. I can't see him retiring win or lose.
-
He needs to think about his health too; he is in his 40's now.
-
i would love to buy supps of ronnie ;D i would pay 70$ for each his preworkout drink during workout and postworkout drink even though they only had 15 servings
-
Ronnie needs BSN so whatever it takes to make that $$$
-
Big Bubba will be back
atleast...thats my opinion
-
Ronnie Coleman has already said he would go back to working part time for the Police Dept.
Sort of mirroring "The Myth" Sergio
-
Ronnie will retire into the jungle with his family of Silver back gorilla's. Or the zoo.

Define "lackluster". I'm sure Ronnie could place in the top six until he's 50.

why dont they bring that masters olympia back just for him he could win that for 25 years straight

I would consider the last Olympia a lackluster appearance for Ronnie, but not anyone else, so it's all relative.
-
He retires and becomes a motivational speaker.
-
OK here is what Ronnie will do.
#1. Retire from competitive bodybuilding.
#2. Enter the Worlds Strongest Man Competition.
The lifts that Ronnie has done before are crazy, yet he does them for a minimum of 2 reps and they are often about a month out from a show. It just seems like he would be capable of doing those strongman events. It would definetly be a fun thing to watch and he would have a lot of support.
I don't know, just thinking out loud.
-
Ronnie's prep for this year will be spot on and if there is any risk of less than first place he will not compete (this year)
-
Does he retire?
Does he come back in 2008?
Hulkster and Pumpster will leave getbig for life

I'd love to see that. Ronnie vs Mariuz.

Sure, Ronnie could still place in the top ten - not top six - for another few years, but this is exactly the problem. Placing in the top ten at the Olympia is tremendous for any bodybuilder: it gives you endorsement contracts, publicity and, for many bodybuilders, it is the epitome of the career. But not for a Mr.Olympia. A guy who wins the Olympia has something more important than endorsement contracts and money to think about: legacy. Losing the Olympia completely ruins the "mystique" of a Mr.Olympia; the aura of untouchable greatness is gone. Ronnie has the choice between preserving the little mystique he still has left by not competing at this year's Olympia and losing his endrosement contract, or losing his aura by being defeated again and preserving his contract. It's bad that Ronnie chose not the former.

I think he would be so pissed off that he would say he's done. But change his mind after the dust settles.
-
After he loses in 07 he will become even more religious and will become a preacher.

that's even worse.. Who can understand what's he saying.. I think Jeebus wouldn't want Ronnie to preach about Him
