315 for 7 was what i got at my last chest workout but i can't come anywhere near 405, i doubt i could even hold it.

My thoughts are this. If we can do 315 for 7, 405 for one should be a piece of cake. At least with a spotter getting a good trap workout ;)

not for me, like i said i doubt i could even hold it at arms length without wrist support, i think you need to get at least 11 or 12 with 315 before you can do 405 but that's just me, i've known guys who could only do 7-8 with 315 and they could get a hard 405.

Really? That's pretty strange. You should be able to get 405 X 1 if you are doing 3 plates for 6-7.

The rule a thumb is 315 for 10 = 405 for 1
405 for 10 = 495 for 1

I tore my pec on 405. I had done it several times X2, but the time it tore I felt like I could get 5 or 6 but it tore on the way down after the 2nd rep. Now I can't even bench without thinking about it, so I have to use dumbells.

Not so much anymore. Now I use 90lb dumbells on inclines at best. Literally took 3 years for the pec to not feel pulling sensation from scar tissue.
If I can get back to 100's I'll be pleased. I just focus more on squeezing now and usually end up getting like 14 reps on my last set.

we've got the Gold's Gym ones that are really super hard rubber, like a rubber exterior and what seems like an iron interior, they are pretty awkward when you get up past 100 pounds.

I usually find the rubber ones really awkward. They usually have wobbly imbalance and the grips are screwy, too.

we've got the Gold's Gym ones that are really super hard rubber, like a rubber exterior and what seems like an iron interior, they are pretty awkward when you get up past 100 pounds.
I like the metal ones now that I've taken time to get used to them. Inclining the 120's is kind of awkward coming down on your last rep of 4 or 5 but you just have to let them back down on your thighs above the knee. People probably think I'm nuts but I use straps when dumbell pressing that much. I have a couple bad fingers and it helps me keep the dumbells in place and allows me to lower them back to my lower thigh easier.
Doing the 120's isn't really a lot on incline but it's pretty good for a natty that weighs between 205-212 (depends on the day right now). Not many nattys can do that for reps that weigh under 210.

You know there is a big guy at my gym, he does bench 470 pounds for 12 mothafuckin easy reps. I couldnt believe it how easy he lifts it. The guy always wears baggy clothes, just one time he wore a normal shirt, and his arms were fucking scary big. Ronnie coleman big! He's black ofcourse.

Dex is just off in that pic. Look @ the veins in the lats. He's still close tothe skin but just off the heavy shit so he gets to live a bit longer. You do realize that don't you? He may not even be training now but can charge what he does cause of those crazy genetics.

Please people. As if it's healthy for Dex to maintain his cut condition 365 a year. Give me a break. Like RS said, he's probably just taking it easy on the gear and his training. Meanwhile there's an obese Branch Warren standing next to him, and no one seems to notice that Dex still manages to look about a million times better than him in spite of obviously taking a break.

trying to add couple pounds for o,,still top shape 7% and would look better post the hot tub with couple hours of fasting,,only thing missing is couple of months and dyazide and lasix + kickin it up a notch on the t3 and ephedrine
still this is the best bodybuilder now days and if he could actually stand on stage 230-235lb with his condition he will be mr o 2008,,the problem is that those 5 lb of the muscle he looks for,, at nearly 40,, is almost an immposible task,,but who knows
