Who the fck is johnny grunge lol
If I remember correctly, Grunge was half of a tag team called Public Enemy or some shit.
It's funny to me that HE was "on". ??? He was just a big fat guy. He'd be the last guy I'd suspect of using anaboilcs.... :-\
Edit: I found this shot of Grunge....

If he was "on", he must have gotten it from Palumbo..... :-\

"indicted .... seven counts of over-prescribing painkillers and other drugs to two of his patients"
Grunge was a neighbour of Benoit who would often come over and help greatly in ending their arguments, according to reports. His death isn't that recent though, February 16, 2006
-
the article never says that he was on, just that his doc prescribed him pain killers and "other drugs"
My bad.... ;)

Rocco Rock has been dead for a number of years and he had a massive heart attack on his way to doing a show for a local promoter in his hotel. He wasn't in good shape so they can't blame it on steroids
Johnny Grunge was never the same and he didn't die in his sleep, he was over a friends house when he started gasping for air and couldn't breathe. Heart attack.
They were a tag team known as Public Enemy. The orginal masters of the tables

Wrong again. Even I know that's Run DMC.

The orginal masters of the tables
Such distinction. I only hope I can leave such a legacy oh brother

THe Dudleyz pretty much stole their gimmick as they were putting people through tables in the late 80's. Their actual claim to fame was when they were in ECW.
If you ever look at any ECW promo clip, you'll notice a whole bunch of chairs being thrown into the ring in a massive pile. That was PE that did that to Terry Funk and his partner in the "chair burial".
They weren't famous but they just liked wrestling. Both of them had a number of successful businesses outside of wrestling, mainly Rocco Rock who sold wrestling rings

That's what I was thinking when they linked him with Benoit's death. This is the LAST guy in the world who could have been on steroids. Drugs, yes. Steroids, no.
-
obesity yes, steroids no.

The new media paradigm in the US is: "If anyone who has larger muscles than the out-of-shape norm either commits a crime or dies of any cause whatsoever, use the opportunity to demonize those evil steroids!"

I despise the mainstream media's excitement at any Bandwagon, they then add fuel to the fire and blow things way out of proportion by eliminating balance in their argument!

this should make your day....
From Dave Meltzer, Wrestling Observer:
Congressman talks about investigating drug issues in wrestling
Florida representative Clifford Stearns, a Republican from Ocala, FL, spoke today about a potential investigation into the drug issues in pro wrestling stemming from the double murder/suicide of Chris Benoit, wife Nancy and son Daniel.
This will be a major topic on all of the prime time news channel talk shows tonight.

Athletes of many ventures have used steroids and they aren't always muscular looking. Powerlifting and Olympic lifting are two prime examples. How many chubby hoisters of iron have been DQed at their meets for testing positive for drug use?

I'm sure he did a lot in ECW, but I recall he really didn't move too well in WCW or WWF. He wasn't in shape - steroids or not. He & Rocko were good at getting crowd reaction with the folding tables.
-
He must be one of Benoit's friends who died recently that I read about in People magazine.
