Title: MAKE UR OWN MILOS DRINK! ADD YOUR RECIPE!
Post by: Jean Paul Gaultier on July 10, 2007, 10:43:10 AM
As the title suggests, so everyone seems to think that Milos drinks are expensive even for the least price conscious consumers.  This thread is for everyone to add their recipes on how to make the Milos shake without having to mortgage your house.  Give the ingredients, proportions and where to purchase all the necessary components.

Substituting Grape juice for water will help with the uptake of the aminos into the muscle cells.  Which amino product would you recommend with all of the essentials?

Amino acids is a pain in the ass because it needs to be taken on an empty stomach to be effective. Luke Wood posted that he takes it 45 minutes prior to working out, at that time his stomach needs to be pretty much empty, which means it would be maybe 1-1,5 hour since he had some food... thats 2+ hours witout eating anything before hitting the gym...

So one gotta think about whats more beneficial, the extra energy you get from eating before hitting the gym, or not eating and sap your strength because you wanna use amino acids.

I hope people really don't spend $200+ for 15 workout days of this combo  :'(

I will be ordering the below for a total of @ $69 plus shipping and using it according to Milos's instruction. Even with EAA being the limiting factor, this will last a minimum of 20 days. With a 5-day training week, this would be a months supply. When its time to re-order, the EAA will be the only thing necessary for $27............that's a total of @ $100 give or take for 2 months worth of workouts!!!....the Milos equivalent would cost @ $533

Milos really must think people are dumb.

Ooohh wait i forgot, they are "special" japanese amino acids...  ::) ::)

Ironically, the pre/post workout shakes I make are what Milos talked about in a recent issue of MD:

Pre Workout:

- 1 heaping scoop of gatorade powder (plenty of dextrose and delicious fruit punch favour)
- 5-10 g of glutamine
- 5-10 g of creatine monohydrate
- 1 scoop of protein powder

Post Workout:

- 2 heaping scoops of gatorde
- 5-10 g of glutamine
- 5-10 g creatine monohydrate
- 1.5 scoops of protein powder

I'll take the first one about 30 minutes before I train, and the second one during/immediately after. I do it with company pt in the morning, and when I hit the weights on my own time. I find it very effective for maintaining energy when the OC takes us on extended runs, as well as more than effective for preserving and building muscle. Not to mention it's hella-cheap!

Universal Nutrition makes a good EAA product, you get a pretty good amount for 20-25 bucks.

Is this drink suppose to be ground breaking by Milos? I read about this 4 years ago on an article on the AST website - notice the date it was written
(http://ast-ss.com/articles/article.asp?AID=132).

I buy pure dextrose which costs like AU$3 a kg and mix that with my protein, glutamine and creatine. So it does not have to be that expensive.

Even though those AST "articles" were usually just ads for their supplements, the supplement strategy there is pretty sound. I'd still like to see why Milos thinks his product is that much better that buying the individual supplements and making your own. Convenience doesn't add that much of a premium...

I'd guess Milos thinks it's better because it makes Milos money.  ;)

Here's an even cheaper option than the 'poor mans version' above....  just combine BCAA's w Dextrose.  Although there are 8 essential EAA's, only the three BCAA's (leucine, isoleucine, valine) are thought to be critical in the bloodstream specifically during exercise (assuming an adequate daily supply), maybe only leucine, since this is the EAA that has the most research demonstrating efects on anabolic muscle growth/ maintenance.

Or you can pay Milos $210 every 15 days.  :-X

Garraeth is doing both the personal training and the supps.  Garraeth would need to win the O this year to break even on the deal.

1 scoop of dextrose
1 scoop of maltodextrin
1 scoop of protein

sip it throughout the workout.  these are the only supplements i take, plus twinlab's joint fuel and, once in a while, bcaa's.

More than that, he gets regular personal training at Milos' gym.

Milos charges $500/hr.
Just a few days ago he was saying how he mixed up his own drink. Now his sig says he uses Koloseum products. Yeah, okay.

Thats very good point. It means that you should train hard only with Milos drink and no food at all ...
That makes me think mmmmmm.....

agreed.

Milos is bamboozaling all of us.

It is an old ruse used by the diet industry.

1. Take an old idea and claim it is new.

2. Use the same ingredients but call them something different,  something trendy sounding,

3. Get some  psuedo science lab behind it to provide very questionable unreliable "evidence".

4. Enlist payed off professionals to say it works, and then

5. price gauge the public.

That is what he is doing.

Shame on you Milos.
