Actually during his reign the germans fucked up the romans, forever stopping the Roman advance at the Rhine.  Look up Arminius

He didn't come out of nowhere. He was the nephew of Gaius Julius Caesar on the maternal side - his mother was none other than Julia, Caesar's sister. He was then adopted by Caesar, becoming a part of the ancient Patrician gens Julia - the Roman followed the patrilineal name line, which measn that Octavian was not a Julii by virtue of being the son a Julia and only became one when his uncle adopted him as his son. Their association with another Patrician gen, the Claudii, gave birth to the Julio-Claudian dynasty, which provided Rome's first five emperors. With his acceptance into the Julii and the inheritance of Caesar's veteran Gallic legions, there was nothing that could stop Augustus from becoming king of the World. He was a man possesed of brilliant intelligence and great political sense, but he was also a sadistic monster who would devour the World. In his "Res Gesteia", or "What Was Acccomplished", which he wrote in his death bed, Augustus tries to justify his many crimes by putting it into grand perpective, as if the lives of all the people he murdered were insignificant, and that it was for a greater good. He justified his many genocidal wars with the excuse that Rome was the World's best hope for civilization and thus that it had the right to conquer whoever it pleased. However, there is no question that he was larger than life. His imagine is one of such power, terror and awe that Charlemagne adopted the emblem with Augustus' face as the symbol of the Holy Roman Empire - as if trying to justify his own authority as the heirs of Augustus.

I have two things to say about this

1.  Ultimate jerk of a corpse thread

2. But who is that myostatin mutant baby with the well built legs hanging from his "robe" in the last pic?
