Gary Player says steroid use in golf a fact

By DOUG FERGUSON, AP Golf Writer
July 18, 2007

CARNOUSTIE, Scotland (AP) -- Gary Player put steroids at the forefront of the British Open on Wednesday, saying golf has its head buried in a bunker if it thinks the sport is clean and he knows of one player using performance-enhancing drugs.

The nine-time major champion urged golf organizations to start random testing.

Why not? There is a shitload more money on the line then in the I.F.B.B.

At least the money in golf would make it worth it.

Think about it you wouldn't even have to come close to what IFBB pros use and you would make so much more cash being in the top 50.

I love how, especially in the US, the media makes AAS/HGH use soo taboo when it is really common as hell through male performance doctors and replacement therapy...But God forbid if any of these individuals committ a violent act, because the minute they search their house and find a 10ml vial of Test enanthate 200mg/ml the media flies off to blame the super low dose of Test as the reason the guy did the violent act... ::)

Who gives a shit, Gary Player can go suck a fat dick.  It's not like a few cycles are gonna make someone putt any better or improve from the sandtrap.

How the hell does steroids help golf?Okay, aside from the obvious answer of longer drives, what happens once you've driven 300 yards? You've still got to chip and putt the damn thing.

Player's smokin crack.

You're obviously retarded.

You don't have to be muscular if you take roids. Look at all the cyclists or runners. It's absolutely possible these guys take minor doses of steroids for regeneration.

You're absolutely right - They might eat regular clean diets of 1500 to 2500 cal a day, train nautilus 2ce a week, and play lots of golf.  They're not going to achieve much muscle mass with a light cycle.  Rather, they'll just keep themselves a little stronger and a little more durable.

Steroids in golf is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Thats like a pool/billiards player on sauce. Oh brother.

You have men (many in their 40s, 50s and older) walking for hours for miles in the sun, exerting themselves physically with the long drives, and doing it year round.

That takes its toll.  I'm sure many of them have joint, muscle, and bone issues that add up, but if you're going to make tens of thousands (or more!) of dollars playing two days of golf, you're probably going to suck it up and do it.

At the very least, a light HRT cycle is going to make these guys play, feel, and live better as they do the same repetitive stuff.

It's probably not as high as in other sports, but i don't doubt that some players use especially to recover from injuries.

Two2thafortee is right on the money.

There's so much money in golf, there's no chance anyone there does NOT juice. Also, ridicule it or not, golf is a tough sport that kills your joints off fast. We're talking professional golf, not three old men with a cart and a bimbo.
