Wow... Dim... Should be an awesome show.

Be sure to ask Dim some tough questions about whether or not BBing caused his condition.  Will he officially announce his retirement on the air?

And ask Cormier to predict how he'll do.  Ask Cormier about working with Robby Robinson.  Ask Cormier why this time is different from the other failed comeback attempts.

Should be a good listen.

Lots of stock brokers, lawyers, race car drivers, etc, have high blood pressure and still go to work at jobs which push it higher.

oh brother... do you really expect a candid explanation... of course he will blame it on heredity knowing that the food poisoning excuse might not work this time.

Is "working with" code for "banging the shit out of"?

that is one of the most retarded responses

his fucking job is DIRECTLY IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS related to the BP problem

I agree completely.

But, it's a risk every BBer knows, and if he knew he had high BP, he knew more than anyone.  He took a risky job, and paid the price.  Just as we see with race car drivers or cops or anyone else with dangerous jobs.  He had a predisposition which led to higher risk, but it's his life.

Yes I completely AGREE ;D

We are his biggest supporters on this site but we don't overdue it like resident closet fags Hulkster and Earl1972.

Here are some pics from an April guest posing. His is well on his way to a successful comeback, this fall he will blow all the doubters away.

Yeah, this will be one of the best shows of the year, I'd reckon.

Also, the show following the O - no matter who wins - will be gold.

Is Jerome TOO big?

Bob: No, he's got a week to dial it down a little more. Not much is going to change if he wins other than getting the pro card. Already makes money like pro, does enough appearances and filming like most pro's are doing.

kris dim felt 1000 pounds of pressure on his chest, then blacked out.

he remembers going into the ambulance - then waking up after the surgery.

immediate diagnosis in hospital was heart attack - the aorta (IT WAS HEREDITARY) - high blood pressure.  He was training for the Europa.  His aorta busted - caused a heart attack, then a stroke, AND a seizure at once.

Bob: "You got the trifecta going on there, Kris!"

Kris credits bodybuilding as the only reason he's alive today.

Side effects of the stroke?  Kris has NONE of them.

Kris is back on his feet.  Not training yet.  Will be 3 months until he can work out again.

No brain damage or paralysis.

Kris isn't htinking about BBing right now.  Just about getting healthy.  Focusing on his kids.

But, once he starts training, "You never know"

"My aorta busted, I had a heart attack, stroke and seizure"

It's called aortic dissection.

There is a 50% chance of survival of a type A (involving the arch of the aorta) Dissection.

Not 10% (typical bodybuilder exaggeration).

Risk Factors:

Hypertension, Atherosclerosis, Collagen Vascular Diseases (marfan's Ehlers Danlos etc...)

AAS Promotes Atherosclerosis.

Surviving AO Dissection because he was "Strong"....BULLSHIT!

Dan asks him about the CAUSES of this heart attack.

Dim: "My cardiologist said BBing could, or couldn't, play a factor.  Main concern is aorta, from high BP and cholesterol.   That's heredity, from my ancestors".

Bob: "Six months down the road - would you be comfy getting ready for a pro show again?"

Dim: "Bob, right now, my main concern is to take it one step at a time.  If life puts me back onstage, so be it.  If not, I'm okay with that.  My goal WAS just to turn pro.  Now I've competed at the O and did covers".
Title: Re: PBW: Play by Play (origination from 240)
Post by: 240 is Back on July 23, 2007, 05:36:21 PM
Dan: "In hindsight, what could you have done?"

Dim: "With the high BP, I thought I had it under control.  With the cholesterol, I should have had blood checked.  High protein affects your liver.  Twice a year I had blood work done".

Bob:  "Given your genetics, were you a ticking time bomb?  Doesn't sound like there's ANYTHING you could have done to prevent it"

Dim: "I could have gotten my BP and cholesterol under control.  My dad died of stroke at 54."

  I'm here, I'm here...

If I could ask Chris Cormier any questions it would be...

1). Who makes the best over sized WHITE Tee's...FruitoftheLoom or Hanes? Also do you prefer a V-Neck or Circle?

2). How many pit bulls does he have in his basment on a treadmill?

3). How many text messages can be sent to various baby booboo's in between sets OFF Season -vs- Pre Contest.

4). If his 'play cousin' LaShawn still works at Holy Moly Donut shop and if they still serve those shrip donuts and buffalo donuts etc...

5). When he finally gets back on top will he dump his STRONG nubian sista TanQuasia who stuck with him while he was at his lowest for a nice fine white bitch 'Stacy' as he cashes those checks.

are there different degrees of this Aortic Disection thing you speak of?  Do the survival chances get worse when you throw in the stroke like in Dim's case?
