Title: 2 Major UFC Fighters Fail Drug Tests
Post by: bigmike 79 on July 19, 2007, 01:23:05 PM: It has been confirmed that Lightweight champion Sean Sherk has also failed his post-UFC 73 drug test as well. His opponent Hermes Franca released a statement claiming he would be coming up positive when the next set of test results were made public by the California State Athletic Commission.

Sherk tested positive for Nandrolone Metabolite and has been fined $2,500. He will be suspended until June 26, 2008 (nearly a year). Normal levels of Nandrolone range from 2 ng/mL to 6 ng/mL - where as Sherk was found with 12 ng/mL.

Sherk has yet to make a statement, he might say it was due to his shoulder injury. Not much of an excuse, I just assume they all fight injured with how just about every fighter mentions an injury win or lose.

Almost every fighter fights with some kind of minor or nagging injury. It's the way of the world, just like in almost all sports.

Exactly. Who gives a fuck. They are weapons, let them go for it. If they lose the fight you can always hang them or electricute them. ;D

The UFC's not testing. It's the state athletic commissions that do it. These guys are getting caught with gear that lingers for a long time in the system. It's funny, Wandy didn't have a problem passing the test during the last PRIDE USA event, and I suspect he's been on gear for a long time.

wtf, monster ridiculous test. It looks like sometimes they need to show that MMA is 'rigorous' with steroids, so they pick anyone (since almost anyone takes it) and punish the guy to make an example
