i noticed that alot of people do hacks on the machines
i also heard you can do them using free weights by gripping a barbell behined your back and squating
has any one tried this ?

Yeah its super awkward, which is why the machine was invented.

Without any explanation this doesn't make sense. The barbell version's much less comfortable and less effective.

cool. i do hack squats with very slow rep speed (4 seconds pos, 4 second negative) im assuming this will be safe on my knee joint.

that trueprotein spam is annoying

i train at me so i do hack squats with a barbell,been doing them for about 9 weeks and have gained some size and thickness in the lower quad area (teardrop). yes it is an awkward exercise but i think it can be used as an alternative when a change is needed.
