why dont the IFSA guys compete in the WSM (or vice versa)? they seem considerably stronger especially sydrunas savikas who is easily the stongest man on earth right now.
also both phil pfister and steve mcdonald are holding the title of americas strongest man, so who is actually better?

I have watched both of the competitions and I would have to say the WSM guys would blow the IFSA guys out of the water...They are in a totally different league...

i would have to disagree, in the WSM overhead stone press only a few guys even got the 300lb stone past their chest. in the IFSA championship i just watched they were pressing a steel rectangle overhead that heavy and pretty much everyone did it, and that mutant savikas pressed a 450lb log overhead like it was nothing, based on what i saw not one WSM competitor would have even got that one past their chest.

doesn't savikas do both?

Savikas does compete in the WSM also...So that proves he is just the stongest SOB no matter which he chooses to compete in...

savikas does compete in both but has never placed in the WSM, but he dominats the IFSA, so that is saying something

WSM involves more running/athletics. savickas absolutely slays all WSM guys on pure static strength

If that's the case then why doesn't he do the Olympics? Would he beat Rezazadeh in the clean and jerk?

wsm has all the history, and its the title that they all want... bar savikas the rest are sub par and would struggle to even qualify

If the IFSA were as challenging as the WSM you would see alot more of those guys going into the WSM and placing...When you have a man over 300lbs that is pretty solid muscle carry an awkward object 100meters or more that is just impressive...I do wish the WSM champion would get more money for their efforts though...The WSM contest is still the most impressive physically challenging event I have ever seen
