Looks like his army of lawyers are in high gear spinning the story.
This is what Fox News and Nancy Grace were talking about yesterday, he's going to have a special PR team, including columnists and anchors to downplay the story and leave out certain facts, trying to swindle, twist, construe the truth.
After that step, they mock and ridcule the feds witnesses.
This is how money gets you off.

Two black women held a sign declaring: "I support Mike Vick due process." That caused vocal jeering from the protesters, which in turn caused the women to taunt them back by waving the sign at them. Later two men had to be separated by security as their debate descended toward physical confrontation, all as a crowd surrounded shouting in all directions.

I am a pretty liberal guy in some instances but this race bullshit is just ridiculous. This is another example of that kind of garbage. http://pcapostate.blogspot.com/2007/07/mainstream-news-media-reveals-its.html

Anyone have any info on the Feds prosecutor? Better bring his A game.
-
The more people continue to play the "race card" the more they set back equal rights...African Americans in the U.S. do more damage to themselves in equal rights situations than anyone else...It is the same concept as biting your own finger and then being pissed afterwards when it hurts; Who do you really have to blame for the pain????
-
The race card is a joke. If it was Tom Brady people would be just at pissed, maybe worse.

Except Tom wouldn't have a team of all white lawyers to blame the feds for profiling him as a white american male and that is the real reason they chose to accuse him LoL ::)

I agree. When a person regardless of race cares more about loyalty to their own race than justice or pursuing the truth then it only demonstrates that absolutely nothing was learned from slavery. Judge one by the content of their character my ass. These black people (those demonstrating for Vick) are behaving just like other race groups only they hide behind years of oppression which they believe justifies their behavior. When you play the race card its an attempt to disrupt further debate and hopefully by default you win. Eventually, no one is going to believe anyone when they have a legitimate issue of prejudice. Its chicken little all over again, or should I say chicken lil.

i guess the race card is his only hope? well no intelligent person is going to buy that bs. i hope vick burns in hell.

Watch Vick's lawyers will find somewhere documented that one of the Feds made the comment of "black-ass" or some other racial comment directed towards Vick while he was being arrested and they will motion that Vicks arrest by feds was somewhat racially motivated...Some horseshit like that always comes up... ::)
-
These fuckers always play the race card..
Same shit when Leonard Little got arrested for DWI, some bitch on ESPN was like, "black men america are targeted."
Then when Sammy Sosa got caught with a corked bat, it was the same race card bs.

They use that arguement for everything lol..
Gotten to the point where it's almost predictable. I mean they use it for IQ, economic statistics regarding education, crime and everything else but the kitchen sink.

How would you know, you are white.
Exactly the only thing that holds us whites down is gravity...African Americans have to rely on the white man to hold them down...
-
I am brown as the day is long.
I'm sick of the race card playing in this country by blacks and latinos.
Try being model minorities like asians and brown folks.. Then you'd have higher education levels and higher incomes than white folks by capita.
Blaming the white hand of apartheid opression ain't working, sonny.

Good man.
But what about Vick's attorneys? It's kinda silly.
People ought to take a page out of your book or people like Bill Cosby.

Naa man I am messing around to be honest...I have lived in several areas of the U.S. and have seen many cultural differences...I really would like to see more successful African Americans speak to the younger generations in lower class areas to open their eyes to every option available to them to live a better life and no one is to blame other than yourself for not taking advantage of all the opportunities out there...
-
The only card Vick needs to worry about is his "Kennel License."

Asians and indians have LOWER incomes per capita than the general population.
That whole "model minority" myth has been exploded for 15 years.
-
White people will be the minority in the U.S. in the very near future so all you current minorities hold out until then...
-

What "myth"?
Wouldn't you say they are generally sucessful? Despite not benefiting from affirmative action and quotas?
Crack a 7-11 joke, but who usually owns those businesses?
I live in a neighborhood in NYC where asians have immigrated to in the last 15 years or so. We've already monopolized the place. ;D Over 3/4 of the businesses are immigrant or second generation immigrant. No black businesses in sight, despite the area having a huge amount of blacks. Crime has gone way down and property values are climbing as more blacks are being pushed out.
-

Yikes. The guy has been doing this for years it goes back beyond just 2001, he is well known in the pitbull fighting world.
Just did some research and found this creep taking up for Vick, he was on CNN last night defending Vick talking about "due process" and "if he was not black"
http://www.rolandsmartin.com/index.cfm (http://www.rolandsmartin.com/index.cfm)
Only a matter of time before Sharpton gets involved....

I emailed him, and CNN regarding his comments and pushing them not to confuse the issues at hand, I might be partially ok with them having people on to "support" Vick since they are journalist and need to report properly but throwing up the issue of color, is absurd.

There was a time when it was true that Asians and indians were overwhelmingly successful, but
that was due almost entirely to America's strict immigration policy that favored educated, skilled applicants.
Even under those circumstances, Indians and asians reliably hit the glass ceiling in the work force, on average, earning significantly less than the general pop.
Asians and Indians immigrants, do by and large, have more years of schooling than the pop. at large, but they are chronically underemployed. The small businesses they work are often not owned by them and rarely significant sources of income.
Earlier this week you said you were Pakistani and taking over our country. Here in New York, poverty levels among Pakis has skyrocketed while education levels have dropped. Some study was released last year about how it was one of the poorest demographics in New York.
Haven't you stated before that you live in the ghetto?
-
I'm not pakistani.

You can walk a block in the city and be in the ghetto. ::)
And when did I say I was taking over anything? I was making a joke about england and their struggle with pakistani immigrants on the Y forum.
-
And to add, recent immigrants to the city cannot be expected to have huge incomes.
Say what you will, but I go by subjective observation. Asians and south asians are pretty damn sucessful within the second generation. Plus take in account the lower levels of crime.
You based your entire arguement by calling me a paki.
-
"if he was not black" than what???
"if he was not black and a pro NLF football star, then he would not have been targeted by the feds"
People are forgetting also that the feds went on Vick's property investigating for drugs and drug money, and turned out they found an even more lucrative illegal operation.
-
There is a diff between living in the ghetto and walking past the ghetto. If you are going to brag about being a superior race, don't live there or it's a moot point on a personal level.
In regards to your race-I'm not an elephant, so I guess I was wrong about your that.
What are you?

I guess the Feds were just investigating Vick just because he was black so they assumed he had drugs and drug money on his property...I highly doubt they would take that chance with a high profile successful football player...
-

No, the last part of my argument was based on one race of "brown people",
which is still valid even if you don't belong to that demo.
And my argument, in its totality, was based on decades of info.
Previous generations of immigrants have been successful right away because they were already successful before they got here. Their second generation would be successful- in all demographics, including black, successful parents are a pretty accurate harbinger of successful children.
There was never a groundswell of poor asians making it in america. The poor Asian groups that come to America generally stay poor.

I didn't say I was superior.
I was just pointing out differences in culture and economics. It's cultural and that's my belief. A lot of black people refuse to look at themselves and choose to blame the invisible hand of white apartheid opression. And it's deemed acceptable by society as a whole because of what took place in the past.
Queens is a pretty diverse place. I walk a few blocks past a certain avenue and I'm in the ghetto.
-
The term "apartheid" has a specific historical meaning & it does not apply to conditions in the U.S. Look it up.

It applies to South Africa.
I know what it means and I could just as well have used 'Jime Crowe' in my sentence.

From the posts you made in this thread, you appeared to be making an argument about racial superiority. .. or maybe it was just "cultural superiority." I don't think statistics bear out either of these povs being true.
The economic gap between blacks and "model minorities" is quickly shrinking as a truer cross section of these groups are admitted into the US.
And I don't know that much about Queens, but the one time I went to Jamaica, it didn't really seem all that "diverse" . I know there are nicer areas like Douglaston, and so-so commercial areas like LIC, but they are more than a few blocks from Jamaica.

Flushing is alright, along with Jamaica estates and Queens village.
Jamaica in the past 15 years has changed a lot. Once you are past hillside avenue and walk uphill, the area is pretty nice. Homes are past 600 k easy and rising despite housing slump.
Go past hillside and jamaica avenue and you are in the ghetto(towards hollis).. A few blocks alright.

Well, just look at your post.
Even though you're arguing that this isn't a racial issue, you tag your post with a picture that is undeniably racist.
Look at the posts that have been in all of these Michael Vick threads- "Criminal behavior is genetic among blacks",etc.
I mean, seriously, there are many non-blacks who have turned this into a race issue irrespective of Vick's actual conduct- or more succinctly, they're "playing the race card"- so it's not really hard to understand why some blacks would view this as an attack on blacks.
I think what Vick is accused of doing is appalling, but the "race card" is inevitably played by more than one party in cases like this.
-
his contract was for $130,000,000.00 ?
Yeah highest paid player in the NFL, but could not give up the glory of killing animals and being involved in drug trafficking
-

Why would you think that? Seriously? Where in the history of American society has that theory played out. Generally, if someone is trash before they have money, they remain trash after they get it, particularly in permissive industries like sports and entertainment.
Look at the starlets who get the most attention-Britney, Lindsay, Paris. Disgusting, drug-addicted trash who haven't managed to put a down payment on class. They haven't gone so far as electrocuting dogs, but they are just small examples of a larger point.
Money has never made celebs or athletes behave, regardless of race.
-
his biggest challenge is going to be if he's found guilty. what has he been charged with?
-
Money amplifies behavior.
-
i like those angel-like animal rights people:
When he [Vick] emerged from a black SUV and made a slow walk up a ramp and into the courthouse, they [animal rights supporters] pushed toward police barriers and let loose.
"Burn in hell you (expletive) (expletive)," repeatedly screamed one woman.
"Die like those dogs," shouted another.
-
I think what Vick is accused of doing is appalling, but the "race card" is inevitably played by more than one party in cases like this.
He played it first.
We're just reacting in kind, since most of us are fuccking sick to death of everytime a black guy fucks up and gets caught, he invariably tries to blame his conduct on "white people". Being white, I take great offense to that.

black jurors in that area are polite, respectful and conservative. not good for vick already.
-
He played it first.
I knew you would say that.
When? What did he say?
I've seen the prosecutors make reference to race, I haven't heard Vick or his attorneys do so.
In the article in the first post, there's no mention of anyone blaming his problems on his race.
-
;D

A white dood told vick to run that dogfighting operation.
You heard it here first folks..Blame Whitey

When the whites migrated to North America, alot of Irish, German and Italians were treated like crap and had nowhere to compalin. But, they worked hard, earned their respect and have become major contributors to North America.
-
PETA vs. Team Jesse. I love it when social activists collide.
Like when the brothas went out lookin' to rob "rich, white people" who turned out to be gay. Hatecrimers had problems 'cause the blacks didn't choose the victims for their gayness - but for their whiteness - which isn't really a hatecrimer's concern. And rallying against black suspects, who have been wronged in every instance by U.S. justice since they invented the gavel ...
Love this shit.

We Did It! Nike Drops Vick
Dear Kelly,
I know you heard from me earlier today or yesterday, but I wanted you to be one of the first to know: Nike announced today that it has suspended Michael Vick's contract without pay and will stop selling all Vick-related products at its stores.
This is a big victory, one that simply would not have happened without your action and those of more than 165,000 others.
As you know, the allegations against Michael Vick are so serious and disturbing that The Humane Society of the United called on his corporate backers to end their commercial relationships with the star player. I’m so pleased that Nike has signaled it has a zero tolerance policy for athletes who may be involved with staged animal fights and other forms of malicious animal cruelty.
Nike's statement reads as follows:
“Nike has suspended Michael Vick’s contract without pay, and will not sell any more Michael Vick product at Nike owned retail at this time. As we’ve said before, Nike is concerned by the serious and highly disturbing allegations made against Michael Vick and we consider any cruelty to animals inhumane and abhorrent. However, we do believe that Michael Vick should be afforded the same due process as any citizen in the United States, therefore, we have not terminated our relationship.”
Also today, Reebok agreed to stop selling Michael Vick-branded products. The company does not have a contract with Vick but has an official relationship with the NFL to sell its merchandise.
Thank you again for all you do for animals.
Sincerely,
Wayne Pacelle
