I watched the Brookhaven TV show that gives you a look at the life of people that weight 500+ pounds. When on the program they are only allowed 1200 calories a day. Only 1200. Is that healthy? That's seems really low. I know these people need to lose weight but damn.

Ya, but 500+lbs is really unhealthy. Extreme cases call for extreme measures; I would say 1200 calories is enough to keep the brain and heart running well and that's about it. It's not like 500+lb people are looking to be bodybuilders or anything, they're looking to get down to a weight where they can actually move and wipe their own ass.
