It weighs a lot more than the guided bar on Cybex Smith machine (which is 15lbs)
I Use the Hammer Smith Machine for front squats and Im curious about the bar weight. It feels like its at least 45lbs.
I checked the Hammer Strength website and they didnt indicate bar weight. They just listed the total machine weight (650lbs)
Thanks!

To me it feels like an olympic bar 45 pounds but smith machines vary,I use the bar only just to warm up on most of my exercises.

STFU and answer the question seriously. Answer it, that is, if you have time off from building those bargain basement 300$ websites.

The way it's set up the friction of the machine makes it a little harder to figure the actual moving resistance when in use. Just make an assumption that's in the ballpark and keep it from then on, like 45 lb.

why the negativity? On getbig if you don't know the answer but would like to help the original poster get an answer, you can bump it with a stupid comment. It fosters a side conversation or two, but at the same time keeps Royalty's question at the top so it's more likely to be answered.

QFT!!!
Most have a rating. The ones I've worked on have the bar only being rated at 45lbs resistance. I do know that lifetime fitness makes a few smith machines as does cybex with 25lb bars. If it doesn't have the thickness of a standard 45, it probably isn't. Just like if you hafta question wether or not it's 45lbs, it's probably not. I lucked out and have a gym that does have 45lb smith machine bars. Most don't.
