wasn't he suppose to be the next big thing?
-
Hes training to be a cage fighter
-
learning finance and been talking about UFC for a year now. retired from pro bbing, I believe.
-
Yes, where is Chris?
One could speculate that he is either;
-in rehab for a meth addiction
-recovering from a stroke
-hooked up to a dialysis machine
-being treated for a heart condition
-awaiting trial in a steroid distribution racquet
-being counselled for domestic violence issues
etc etc etc etc.
Pro Bodybuilding; the most pathetic career choice on the planet!

You are correct, but you follow it. :-\

As we know, most bodybuilders are dumb as dogshit, but Chris has got to take the cake!
Saw this 'piece of shit' in an interview about 5 years back, this steroidal-has-been could hardly string two logical words together. He would certainly give Jay Gutler a run for his money!
Peace.
-
He had to have half of his torso amputated due to insulin shock after He doubled down on the Milos drinks. Insane dedication.

maybe he retired after making millions in the bodybuilding industry?

Who really cares where Chris Cook is?
-
wasn't he suppose to be the next big thing?
That's FLEX magazine for ya. Too bad that CC messed something up, he seemed like a nice guy, one thing that pissed me off was when he started endorsing gamma-oryzanol. That along with chitosan is the SCAM supplement of the millenium.
-
Chris Cook looked great. He was one of the few pros I actually wanted to look like when I started training. Here he is guest posing and in contest. (Remember when pros had calves?)

sounds pretty smart to me. wtf are you talking about spank wood??
-
"retiring" from bodybuilding is probably the smartest thing a "pro" bodybuilder can do. Shows intelligence on his part. I remember seeing some pics from a guest posing he did and he just looked like a fat out of shape guy.

Jeez - you are so off. Chris Cook is pretty smart, making very good money as a financial analyst here in Los Angeles, and training for MMA fights. He has had about 6 fights so far, mostly minor fights, but is gearing up for a major fight soon.
Chris comes to the offices about once a month or so, and was always been very cool, well spoken and knows his stuff. After the loss of his Gamma-O deal, which is still in litigation, he chose to train for MMA fights, which he loves doing.
When he was a bodybuilder, he had a great physique, but he faltered in his last contests that he competed in, and chose a different way at the moment. Chris is married to a wonderful person, and there comes a time when family and financial decision is what he need to concentrate at.
-
He didn't look that great to me. He had that thick skinned, thick boned and bloated look to him, not a crisp physique at all. Reminds me of Jay Cutler a bit. Of course Cook was never close to Cutler.
-
Who Cares? Chris had his chances and blew it! He made disastrous choices and failed!
He could never be trusted in the industry again, after those 'supplement' debacles! What shrewd business acumen he possessed!
And i will say again, i saw this freak in an interview years back, and he was an incoherent and illogical nutter. I am not alleging that he was using a 'mind altering substance' while being interviewed, but one can only speculate....mmmmm.
Never liked his look. It just appeared that he could never get his cycles right!
-
that hair is consistently dreadful, right spotter?
-
I thought he looked great. Kind of reminded me of a larger dennis newman whom I have always admired before tragedy struck.
-
Cook isn't going to be a good pro bodybuilder, that is obvious. But he probably has a decent pile of money from endorsements, he's made a lot of friends, he is a household name in many BBing fan's minds, he's had a few covers, and he's getting educated. He's in a good spot compared to most folks. Sure, he's not gonna win a Sandow anytime soon. But he's making a decent living, so all the power to him.

Ron,
Unless Chris showed you his W2 and a personal net worth statement it would be very difficult to determine whether he's well off or not.
-
Hey Hank...
Since you seem pretty knowledgeable on the people in Professional Bodybuilding, did you know Hans Hopstaken?
Lisa

Are you implying that Ron is in the habit of looking at other guys' "W2's"?????????

That comment can apply with anyone, but since you hear and see things, via friends, family and more, you can make a general prognosis. Chris looks good, is happy and that is what counts. Money isnt the most important thing out there either.

I hate to disagee with you Ron...but money is the most important thing. No banker would lend Chris money because of his "bodybuilding potential." To get a house you need a mortgage. To buy groceries you need money. To buy clothes, an education, etc you all need money.

This is a debate and thread for another boards, but
You can have a lot of money, and be extremely miserable. You can have a lot of money and be very sick. You can have a lot of money with no family. Some people who had a ton of money says that it also brings a lot of problems.
Money is only one aspect of life. Yes, it is important because it buys food, clothing, etc. You don't have to 'own' a house with a mortgage. Some people prefer not to.
Other aspects... sex, satisfaction, knowledge, friends, not being lonely, teaching others wisdon and so on.
As for the 'bodybuilding' potential, a banker looks at the same thing anyone else does when someone wants a loan. Assets, liabilities, income, W2 forms, credit, source of income.

Housing market will crash the moment the fed raises rates to save the dollar.
Renters delight. Rough time to own a young mortgage.

I live in a swanky part of SW Florida and I tell ya, 2/3 of the homes on the block are for rent. $300,000 homes here (they would be 600,000 in Cali) and you can rent them for 800 a month. It'd be insane to buy at the moment round here. When the war in Iraq ends, rates get raised and yikes... mad bankruptcies on the way. people bought big homes as a second home (investment) or home beyond their means with the 9/11 interest rates. Rates went up and POW... many people are about to be in major trouble.
-
lotta haters on this board
-
Chris is one of few guys who can carry a LOT of size and look good. He kept a thin waiste with insane quads and shoulders, something Cutler couldn't do. Conditioning was off once or twice, but so what, anyone who bothers to hate is saying more about their own lives than his.
-

Excellent post.

So hes had around 6 mma fights? anyone know his record?
Good luck to him though!

STFU, "Jake"
Hank is a valuable member of this board and his insight is always welcome, he might have controverse opinions from time to time, but at least he contributes to the board more than asskissing losers like you. Fuck off to MD boards, they love cock sniffing homos like you there.
Hope this helps.

Money does not matter after reaching a certain point. This is point is enough to live on, save on, and provide for BASIC spending needs (ocassionally vacation money, savings, dinner out, Christmas presents, new computer, new car, etc).
Amassing more is fine, and wise, but past this point you have to balance it with the things Ron mentioned.
Cook has size and mass I can only dream of right now. I'm sure he is satisfied with his bodybuilding. How much of the Weider's Mario Bros judging/homo agenda could a real man take anyway? :)
I remember reading how Cook had a dream to be a pro bodybuilder & how he said he slept in his freaking truck at one point! Man, this guy went for his dream and he got it. Now he has moved on...however, he will always retain his steroid muscle memory, allowing him to easily blow up if he ever chooses too again. Not a bad deal if you ask me...probably only took 10 years off his life from drug use too :X JK!

The last time I saw him he was taking a walk among the bush

Chris, you just love getting your shirt off.... don't you? What did you put in those delts? Oil ?
The fact is Chris, your little escapade poolside in Las Vegas, really did show the industry, what 'team' you actually bat for!
And also Chris, stop the fabrication of your 'net worth'.....surely you are not that inadequate?
-
what group of athletes or individuals can live up to your standards hank?
and where is it written that they have to?

bwhaahahaahahaaa, i love this guy. Hank, your wit and humor are unbeaten here.

Surely getbig can do better than this homo wood guy. At least Sarcasm was funny, not just a gay twat.
-
Chris Cook is pathetic. While Ron's defense of his friend is admirable, the facts don't support his case. Chris is not a smart man, and chances are better than 50-50 that he is either working a very unenviable low paying manual labor job, doing G4P, or a combination of both. I wouldn't trade a bucket of shit for that guy's life.

Nothing is certain in this life except death, taxes, and Squatfatter's love of trannyporn.

Hey Chris, those Weider Publication picture-shoots always had the old-guys lurking in the shadows! They loved your blonde hair, bloated quads and oil...... didn't they?
Chris, it must be humbling to know, that you fulfilled many fantasies, for those old-blokes at Weider!
-Yes, it appears Chris does have a Grandfather-complex; he always enjoyed running the odd errand for those arthritic creeps!
