Title: bigger pics from my show
Post by: Stavios on August 09, 2007, 10:56:19 AM
they came out very red when I scanned them

what do you guys think I need to work on ?
I think I am pretty proportionate I juste need to get bigger overall

I tought my arms were my weak bodypart but they have the same thickness as everything else judging by the pics.

my biggest weakness is back thickness, wich is why I won't post back pics  ;D
I have already started to correct this tho, I trained too light for the back.
I think back is the only part where you must use the biggest weight possible without worring about your form or it won't grow.
I also stopped doing pull downs shits and I only do chins and pull up

Do the heaviest deadlifts you can, heavy tbar and close grip cable rows no more than 8 reps. That shit will thicken you up for sure.

wow! you look awesome for 19, man! i really hope i look like that in one years time. i would definitely be happy with that physique.

if you want soem criticism though; you need more size to PLACE higher, although i dont think you need any more size to just look attractive to females..but if competitive bodybuilding is your passion  ..=more size.

and your lower abs could be a little bit crisper...do you train with weights? lately i have been doing heavy weights for my abs, 4 sets of 8. just like i would train back or arms..and it is working reall fucking well!! i have thickened up my abs more in the last 3 weeks doing this than i have in the last two years dong abs with body weight only.

yeah I also think I need thicker abs
I only trained them pre-contest with crunches and sit-ups, now I'll train them in the off-season with weights like you suggested

Nice Stavios...Just more size overall and maybe some special attention on the arms and your good to go...I really focuse on back this last year and there was this one machine I think a Cybex one that really seemed to help especially with width...I cant remember the name of it but Ill look tonight at the gym and let you know...Dont forget about deads, not just for back but overall size....Good luck in the future man..

Luckily you have some awesome frame work to build off of.  Most people try their whole life to look as good as you at any age.  Keep rockin' and hit the big lifts.  8-9 months of hardcore deads, squats, presses will go a loooong way with you.  Eat like a cow and stay away from slin and you have every chance to be a pro as anyone.  Remember I said that! ;)

I dont think you should worry about weighted ab work at all...If you are doing heavy basic lifts then that works your abs enough...some crunches and leg lifts here and there are fine...with your type of physique it is going to be important to keep your waist small I think...

Deadlifts, but fairly high reps, 6-10 reps.

DB Rows

And wise move, don't show off your weakness. 8)

That's what Arnold would've done too.

Hedge, hutch, BBD : Thanks for the advices !

what do you think about rack deads ? I did those yesterday for 10 reps with 495 lbs
they are a lot easier than regular deads but my back and traps are very sore today

Did them last back day...I am gonna alternate them with deads...On racks though you can go so heavy on them that I think its better to go higher reps, like 12-15...Otherwise you got a shitload of weight and an injury waiting to happen...

I think you should do like Hutch and alternate.

If I could give you a bodybuilding type of suggestion, it would be to do a rotation like this:

week 1
deadlifts

week 2
rack deadlifts

week 3
Platform deadlifts (stand on a plate or a platform, usually using a lighter load, focusing on form)

Go for 8-12 reps on all three IMO.

JMO of course.

Also, I would recommend you to stay with no more than 2 sets of rack deadlifts, since they are really demanding. Instead, look forward to next time you will be hitting those rack deads.

Racks are good and will allow you to build up some tolerance to a projected target floor weight by starting high and bringing the safety bar lower.  Be carefull on those, Hutch is right.  Solid deads from the ground IMO build the best out of anything.  One day you just realize everything else gets easier and the endorphin release after a heavy set is something you can't explain...only experience!  Nothing like it!  Bottom line though is have fun and don't take this shit too serious.  That helps alot too!

Stavios, you look very, very impressive. Seriously. Great physique for any age, let alone 19. Your future potential is beyond vast.

The only suggestion I would have for you, may sound a little fruity, but is to change your posing trunk selection, get ones that sit higher on your waist. It will serve to highlight your V-taper more, make your quads look larger, your waist look more streamlined etc.

Nice work bro...my wife rarely comments on little guys but digs you..so hats off lad! ;)

She's dated smaller guys (under 235lbs) but prefers the big boys. She's weird like that..my off season (rugby, which is my gain season in BB) I pack on fat and she likes it!?..

I remember being in college, and remember what I looked like then and what I received for my hard work...I envy you.

Disagree.

Don't budge into the gay posing thong culture.

Instead, go for the Platz style.
