Title: Past glory days stories
Post by: SteelePegasus on August 12, 2007, 10:26:24 AM
Why is it that every old timer or gym new guy feels the need to tell about their past glory days from highschool or college?

it never fails, either at the water fountain or right before you do your set...they MUST impart the wisdom of their old training techniques and regiment that allowed them to lift more than you

I swear..making eye contact in the gym can be dangerous..this is an open invite for them to interrupt your routine..
it is to the point that 1/2 way through their story I ask them "how much longer will this strength god story take?"

In the gym I usually don't need to talk.  My lifting generally speaks volumes without saying a word.  Outside the gym though I have to talk.

You ever notice how everyone in the gym is "just getting back into it"  Guys sometimes feel the need to tell me this when i'm waiting for a machine they are using.  Monster insecurity.

I GUARANTEE you will be doing in 15-20 or 30 years, if you don't, BBing was never apart of your life.
