I am going to share a homemade protein snack that I have been making for years. Tastes better than any bar you can buy.
6-8 scoops of a good tasting chocolate flavor whey ( I use BSN lean dessert chocolate fudge)
1/2 cup dry quick cook oats
1/2 cup omega-3 peanut butter
2 tbsp honey
1/2 cup water.
Mix this up real good. I actually prefer using my hands because it can be real thick to stir with a spoon.
Roll into little balls, ziploc them and chill.
When I am not dieting I will roll the balls in stuff like coconut, toffee pieces, roasted chopped peanuts, icing sugar, cocao powder or into some melted chocolate. It is like having little high protein truffle chocolates. Even my wife who can't stand protein powders eats these up.
Awesome snack. Out of the list of ingredients above I get about 10 golf ball size balls. Lasts me about 3 days.

I'm glad you liked them. they are tasty treats for sure. And not dry and nasty like a lot of the bars you can buy. Plus you control the ingredients. If you wany more carbs add more honey and oats, less carbs, take out some of the oats and honey. There are a lot of options. If you like dried fruit like raisins or want to make cinnamon oatmeal, you can use vanilla powder instead.

they sound pretty good! I would probably eat the whole batch on the premise that they are good for you. ::)

That is the problem when things taste too good.
I actually make my food that I take to work taste bland on purpose or I will finish it all by eight in the morning if it tasted too nice. :D

I also buy the jello brand sugar free pudding, mix some protein powder in it. What I find helpfull is that if you add too much protein powder, the pudding doesn't set so I add in a couple tablespoons of powdered skim milk and it totally thickens nice.

Great idea. Sometimes I use guar gum, but that's not something most people would have on hand. What I don't understand is why you can't make pudding with water ??? or even 1/2 water and 1/2 milk - it won't thicken. Anyone?

you'd need to be a molecular chemistry genius to be able to figure something like that out...
hmmm. my guess is that the pudding powder prefers milk and goes on strike if you use water
