Bigfish back in business baby.
So here's my dilema...I started back in February running 500mg sust & 300mg deca per week for about sixteen weeks till the end of May. All was well, got good gains, feeling great. Waited two weeks and started taking my clomid and HCG for 20 days all while trying to keep up my normal workout routine. Still things are looking good. Then about 2-3 weeks after that i notice my chest developing crazy zits and now almost 10 weeks after my cycle i have crazy acne! i'm talking about my entire chest just oozing all over and new pimples arriving on the daily. It's become so painful that it's hard to sleep at night because i can barely lay on my side and don't dare roll over onto my chest.
So i went to the dermitologist and they swabbed and tested for infection...negative. so thier conclusion is sever acne and they want me to start taking Accutane which sounds like some wicked shit.
My question is, why wouldn't i have gotten the acne during the cycle? Why 10 weeks after being off has this gotten so bad? i would have thought when my test levels were at thier highest on the cycle that this would be the problem not now.
-
thats a million dollar question?
just get some lava soap and youll be fine
-
Hmm Sounds like me mate,
Normal get it after a cycle.don't know why. But yours sound severe. Accutane should do the job. My doc just gave me some Mynomycin anti bacteria for acne together with some Benzac Wash solution. Make sure u wash you chest and keep them clean tho, theres where the oil glands are. you go any at ur back and neck?
-
That's the only time I get acne is during PCT & a little after. I usually just shower twice a day with a good anti-acne soap & it eventually goes away. Getting a little sun also helps some.
Note: I noticed more acne with Clomid then Nolva (but that's just me).
-
Accutane isnt anything harsher than dbol or abombs. I took it when I was 19 (maybe that and the abombs was why my liver was producing so many enzymes at 1 point lol)
Shower with a good soap and its summer right now so be outside in the sun all you can. It will help dry out your skin (from the oils and dirt) and will give you a nice tan while helping dry out the acne. If you cant get sun from outside, set 20minutes aside and go tanning.
I do got to admit the visual I got when you said "oozing out your chest" made me stop eating my sandwhich lol
-
Same here, its LOW TEST IMO that cause the problem.
Ever notice a lot of teenage girls w/ bad face acne? Well they dont have much testo....
-
I usually get it with high doses of winstrol.
-
I always thought that is was due to your own natural stimulation of testosterone kicking in again after a cyle. Hence the fact you get it after PCT. Doesn’t this stimulate your glands to secret more oil which causes this? Look at teenage kids , especially boys , I had bad skin as a kid for around 2 years when I was 14-15 years old after that gone. I was always used the impression this was due to hormones like test starting to be produced much like the effect that takes place during PCT...
Also accutane , it has some rough side effects bro. I also had a break out after a sust and deca cycle once in fact it was the same dose as you as well. So I went to get it checked out and they also prescribed accutane. What stopped me from taking it is the fact that whilst on it I was not allowed to do any heavy resistance training. In doctors terms this meant NO WEIGHT TRAINING for at least 3 month. So I opted to just leave it for another month and it slowly went away. Just find out from your doctor 100% be for you start taking it… I would rather have acne than not train for 3-6 months
-
i took accutane about 2 years ago it is definately worth it
i could still train while on it the main concern is that your joints are a bit drier than normal kinda like
being on winny
-
I get acne during every cycle i have ever done. about 3 weeks into a cycle they start popping up on my back and shoulders, rarely on my chest.
Take 2 showers a day, Tan in the sun preferably, and change your bed sheets every day.
these 3 things made a world of difference for me. once my PCT is over all of the acne fades quickly for me.

The only time I had acne was after a shortish Test and Dianabol cycle many years ago, also just as I came off.
I got it in weird and sore places like inside my nose and my upper back.
Back in the 1980s there was no PCT so it was just tough it out for a few months till you came right......... hopefully.
We really did not know what we were doing at all then.
I got really greasy all over and nothing really worked for the acne other than time.
-
Big ups on all the feedback. Yeah i get it during my cycle always on my back and shoulders...funny thing is my back actually looks like a million bucks now but my chest is the nightmare. My apologies for the gross detailed nature of the situation :) Just looking to drive the point home.
Doc's currently got me on mynocyin (sp) and some topical cortizone stuff which seems to be helping a bit. the inflamation isn't as bad and new zits aren't arriving as rapidly. I think i'm gonna try and see how that does along with some tanning cause i'm looking like a snowflake right now so that may help out.
I am a little sketch on the Accutane because the doc says NO juice while on it and that some of the side effects include severe depression & suicidal tendencies. Not really feeling that...

Oxy soap, treat the spots w/ oxy creme or Retin-A creme... It Burns them dry...

Retin-A is good stuff but you've got to use it for awhile before it really starts to work well. You also got to be careful because it makes you really easy to get sunburn.

Yeah, it dont make good suntan lotion. It frys the skin and kind of cooks the pimple.
You would NOT want to rub it on face and go outside.
-
so Retin-A is a topical cream or something? Can you get that at the drug store?
Rim, you ever heard of Accutane? It sounds to me like it's nothing more than an extremely high dose of Vitamin A.

I used to use it when I was abour 14-18 (like most teens had a little acne). When summer came around I'd only use it three times a week & I'd still fry (sucks being Irish & German/Polish).

Retin-A is a topical cream - I think you still need a script for it. I've heard of Accutane but never used it. I've seen research sites with it though.

Accutane is a harsh oral. I think it can cause serious birthdefects in pregnant women, so its a tighly controled drug in the States.
Retin-A will get let right thru coustoms from any intnl Pharma. They dont screw w/ stufff like that.
It is prescription in the states. Your Dr may write some for you.

Yep good stuff. Use a LITTLE dab of the shit though, no need to glob it on. Will cause very dry skin, and avoid prolonged sun exposer

Its very harsh,If a woman falls pregnant on it there is a 99% the baby will be a retard. The girl in my office is on it and she had to go for loads of test’s first. Liver , pregnancy they where very thorough. A friend of mine was on it when I was in school it messed the guy up bad , he also drank booze on it which is a big NO NO but it messed his mental health up. My doc told me if I had to take it that the risk of injury is great with heavy resistance training due to the fact it try out your joints. You can easily tare and snap tendons and the like.
What im getting at here is that I would only suggest you take it if you life was very crappy because of acne and you didn’t have much to loose because of it. Say for instance you had no hope in getting laid at your year end ball in high school. Otherwise sit it out and use a lotion , if you cant get a girl for a month rather watch some porn.

True on both accounts.

Yeah apparently women using Accutane have to be on two forms of birth control (ie. IUD & pills) before even being able to get near a script of the Accutane. The mental side affects are what concern me. i think i'll pass on it and just stick to the many other suggestions you have all laid out.
-
I don't think it has been proven to cause mental sides. I know a lot of people that take the stuff and they are ok. Now I can't say for sure your going to be 100% while on, but you can always get off if you feel like crap. It works wonders!
-
If you aren't already suicidal or severely depressed I don't think accutane is gonna make you go and kill yourself.
-
I am a MD. Tell your derm that you use AAS. Accutane is pretty harsh on your liver, and greatly elevate your cholesterol and TGs. Also, there is a pretty real risk of depression and suicide has been linked to it (I am not saying this will make you kill yourself, but just to keep in mind in someone comming on an AAS cycle). Instead ask your derm for Clindamycin solution, and oral doxycyline 100 mg po twice a day (it is anti-bacterial plus anti-inflammatory). Also, start washing your chest with panoxyl bar (OTC, benzoly peroxide 6%)--it can bleach your clothes so be carefull. This acne is hormonal and should start to go away in a few weeks.

Nice to have some more Medical Prof input....
IME "Telling my Family Practice Dr about AAS use" was not beneficial in any way...
All I got was a lot of bullshit to threats from a guy with clearly Zero knowledge on the subject.

Definatly leave the accutane alone, severe sides on that and like the last poster says, can cause suicidal tendencies. The obvious cause here is the gear ur on, and it will go, maybe loosen up on the dairy for a while.
-
And by the way, accutane can dry up the joints, which is all u need. I know i took it years ago, and it hurt when i got back training, took a long while to build up again. Found out later that is was dairy that was causing the acne, if i drink a whey protein now i get the biggest freakin lump come up in less than 2 days! and im 48!
-
well heres my 2 cents on accutane.
Ive used it three times so far and they say it should be used once.
im 34 yearse old and done 3 cycles so far.
my 1st time using accutane was the typical 14 year old acne problem.
and I had it BAD!!!! my doctor never seen a case like mine. he called it cistic acne and it got so bad that there was about two weeks I could barely open my mouth to eat. it was one huge scab that covered my face. im not bullshittin....
I cant remember what mg dose per day I took back then was but within a couple of weeks it started to dry me out. and clear me up.
my 1st cycle (age 30) was a mild one with testroprim-D and some D-bol.
and I broke out pretty bad on my chest and back.
2nd and 3rd cycles (age 31 then 33) were a little higher dosed and with them i ran accutane with them like this.
2nd cycle after d-bol of 4 weeks I ran a 10 mg accutane tab once a day.
its was enough to keep me from breaking out.
3rd cycle after a bombs of 4 weeks i ran a 20 mg accutane tab a day.
I alwasy was worried about my liver enzymes but they always checed out good befor i started my cycle.
and i use milk thistle during entire cycle.
do a little research ask a few more questions and be careful not to over due it.
I have heard so many horror stories bout accutane but I still used it and will again.
with my next cycle coming up.
good luck. LATER
Im not positive about the depression side effects with gear AND accutane but Ill tell you this.
I have battled depression half my life.and never taken a drug for it. I have just delt with on my own and my depression has NEVER gotten worse while I was ON!!!!!!!!
but everyone is different. TAKE CARE.

Good eg: Of Weighing the Cost Benefit Value of a Medication. For you it sounds like a good choice.
Ive seen that kind of acne and it's not funny.... I wouldnt want it.

If you tell your Derm that you are on AAS he will NOT give you accutane, he will tell you to come off AAS because THAT is what is causing the acne.
Accutane is for people who have acne not related to AAS. i wouldn't suggest running Accutane while on steroids, it defeats the purpose. as soon as you come off AAS your acne will go away. why stress your body and liver more than necessary?

Great post overload, spot on. pardon the pun, lol ;D

Thanks for the input worm. I didn't tell my derm about the aas use because i feared that he would just tell me to lay off of it and then my acne would go away, but i've been off it for about 12 weeks now. i'm very open about it with my regular doc because she's cool about it but this derm i don't trust. i'm very selective about what i say to who.
So the derm put me on Predisone & Minocycline with some spray stuff called Clobex and that's actually seemed to reduce everything quite a bit. The redness is subsiding and the itching is going away and all the 'sores' have slowed drastically. So i got a call from him asking why i hadn't gotten any bloodwork yet for the Accutane so i went into see him today and told him that i was skeptical of the Accutane due to the harsh sides and that the stuff he has me on now is working.
I showed him how much better it looks and he STILL wants me to take Accutane! He says that i'll have scarring and stuff if i don't. At this point if i don't take it he's not gonna give me anymore Predisone & Minocycline when i run out so what should i do? I use Proactive on my face twice a day, think if i start washing my chest with that i can get away without having to do the Accutane?
-
Tanning beds work wonders bro, that and hot showers, no word of a lie I clean my face about 6 times a day.
-
I think you need to tell the DERM Dr.
I dont like to either, but this is a need to know situation.
-
how old is your derm?
The prednisone calms the inflammation and that is ok. However, the clobex is a class 1 steroid (strongest ever) and may worsen acne. Minocycline is great for acne, but side effect include pigment deposisits in acne areas, and quite phototoxic (makes you very sensitive to the sun). Long term use of minocycline can cause hepatitis too.
heres what i would do: get benzoyl peroxide (panoxyl bar, or this is what proactive is) and wash twice a day with. continue with the minocycline, but stay out of the sun. no need to take prednisone long term (corticosteroid induced acne happens a lot, but usually long term). then stop the clobex and use clindamycin solution. just tell your derm u refuse accutane (he cannot force u) and you want clindamycin solution. your acne is going to clear up fine, just a matter of a few more weeks. don't scrub too much, and don;t pick, you shouldn;t scar.
-
just so you guys know, you can get isotretinoin (accutane) without a Rx on ag-guys.com
-
I'm surprised no one has suggested pantothonic acid aka b-5.
Take 3-4k mg's per day and you'll see a difference in a week. It won't work as good as accutane but it will reduce the acne by 50 % or more. I always use it during and after a test cycle.
-
some derms do give vitamins, mainly niacin and the B-vits. just take a multivitamin.
-

yes you can, and the shit works wonders.
