Title: Shaving Cream
Post by: MB_722 on August 18, 2007, 10:47:00 AM
What do you use?

I use Zirh Shaving Cream, I get no irritation from it. I'm looking to switch. Regular brands irritate my skin to much.

I used Edge gel, but if you want a good one try Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar Shaving Cream.

by far the best shave i have got with no irritation at all etc is just using a bar of soap. all these new products seem to irritate me somethime. i also get a closer more comfortable shave.

i use a bar of soap called shield. works a real treat

if you have let your beard grow for a few days and if you get irritated easily i suggest running any kind of cheap skin lotion on first... it will provide for better razor glide

The best shaves I tend to have are when I've used an exfoliating pad and Dermalogica facewash in a hot shower prior to shaving - then use Simple gel with a Wilkinsons Sword quattro titanium razor - shave once with the grain of your stubble, rise with warm water, then reapply the gel and this time shave against the grain and rinse off with warm water. Then apply a cooling balm, followed five minutes later with moisturiser and you're good to go.

Sounds a bit Patrick Bateman I know but you can't go wrong doing it this way.  8)

how do you put conditioner on your face? I would rather use soap than conditioner.

with my hand? what do you mean?

shave in the shower, squirt it in your hand and then rub it on your face. let it sit for a minute...then shave

piping hot shower (opens pores and softens skin), first an antibacterial face wash, exfoliating face wash, conditioner to soften hair, wash off.  Apply king of shaves oil with tea tree to face and leave for a minute then nivea or any otherthick shave gel ONTOP of the oil, shave with a new blade every time hold skin tight against face. shave in smooth single strokes. when done put ice cold water over your face to close your pores pat dry then wait 10 minutes and add moisteriser with camomile to your face. the cold water will stop the moisteriser blocking yours pores and aggrivating your skin or even worse spots.
I have face hair like wire thats why ive developed this regeme for shaving lol

you should consider staying away from anti bacterial soap...  most of the bacteria that live in and on our bodies are there for a reason...
