So a while back some knucklehead on here said Flex Wheeler never used synthol. Well, we all know that apparently "Flex" died and Kenneth was reborn. Here's what Kenneth had to say about synthol when he used to be "Flex"...
(taken from MuscleMag International issue 234)
Clayton Raymer: Have you used Synthol?
Flex Wheeler: Yes, and I wish I hadn't because I have been criticized to the end of the Earth for doing so. Plus, I now believe it to be very dangerous. Right or wrong, I have to wonder why people jump on me about it when you have most of the top guys using it. Either way, Synthol is in the past for me. I look better without it.
Sorry, but if anything, Flex was one of the very few people who actually looked good using Synthol. Just check out BFTO '99 :o

Problem was, this was the begiining of the end for Flex. He couldn't out-muscle Ronnie, so to appear bigger he used Synthol. Lost his chance in 1998. He looked better at the 1998 Arnold Classic than he ever did past that to his retirement. He never needed Synthol at all.

I think he didnt ues synthole(Before the day of O) in the Mitsuru tape of 99.Because his muscle showed a lot of fibers.
But Olympia 99 tape, look like he used.Because his shoulder looked puff.

Agree. I think the biggest reason why he couldnt beat ronnie is his smooth glutes(Comparing with ronnie.).

He didn't need size to beat Ronnie or Yates and you're right because in 98 it came down to basically who had striated glutes and hams and that was Ronnie , Flex never looked as good in his career as he did in 1993 all down hill after the accident.
-
Flex was just amazing when he was on
-
His condition at the '92 USA was fuckin' amazing! :o

I would venture to say that his '92 USA condition was, shall I dare say, better than his '93 Arnold condition. :-X
But just barely. ;D

It may be , its certainly on par ! and Mike Mattarazzo said that he feels his 93 shape would probably beat Dorian 1993 !

I don't agree here. I think that between two bodyuilders in awesome conditioning, the one who is bigger has a great advantage. In the case of Dorian vs Wheeler, it's really the ultimate orange vs apples battle: one is far more aesthetic, but the other carries 35 lbs of muscle more. To be honest with you, I don't think that Wheeler would have won the 1993 Olympia even if he stepped onstage in his 1993 ASC or Ironman shape. It still wouldn't be enough. Dorian might not have won with straight-firsts scores if that was the case, but I think he would still have won do to his great advantage in muscle size and hardness. I wouldn't mind Wheeler winning, but I just can't see that happening.

No wonder his arms were suddenly freaking big, they were always very average.

Yes. Thats what i want to say. If he had his glutes striated(OK hams also),he could be the complete BBer and he could be in his own league.
That means,I see Shawn is more complete than Flex.BBer should have everything.

Look at his hands ??? ???

In those early training vids you wouldnt expect they would become that huge in the future.

Post some please.
Hey nobody was born with 20inchs solid arms. ;)
-
lol thats true but how some pros make that big leap in size is probably the result of oil.
kenneth also had tiny joints and a small structure, he couldn't become a monster without the oil i think.
-
flex never needed to use synthol at all... he just got mentally weak and won't admit it now...

I have his 93 training video and he had already huge arms though.
His arms was always good.
I think he injected oil on his rear delts. Not arms.
Normaly,if you inject it, that part looks puffy.
-
Yeah he looked good but don't you agree with the fact synthol made him the monster he was at the end?
-
flex was amazing back in 93....but later in the 90s he was full of different oil. in..arms, shoulders and calves....including eisclene. he should have stayed at 230-235lbs without any oil.
-
Yeah he looked good but don't you agree with the fact synthol made him the monster he was at the end?
Yes I agree. But the little bit of changing create an ilusion of huge change. That is true.
