If I were starting from scratch, I'd get a new all in one iMac.

If it's just for office use and internet then it's fine - if you ever decide you want to play the latest games on it then you'll find it will probably be unable to cope in about a year or two's time.

Is the 'processor' fast enough? Is 2ghz enough for my internet needs? At the moment i have an ancient windows 98, and sometimes it has trouble showing fast images without shuddering.

You need at least 2 gig Memory for vista,... vista is memory hungry.
Bluto is right 160 gig Harddrive is fuck all, upgrade.
Don't by an Mac unless you are a designer or simply never want to run a PC game or work with an horrible OS.

2ghz is fine. My wife just bought an Apple laptop though. I recommend those.

I would love an Apple lap top, but unfortunately i'm not as rich as your 'wife'.

Is it you that's training to be a policeman, or is that Bast?

Um, new Macs can run PC software too.  Visit your local Apple store for a demonstration.

If you have a $700 computer budget, scrounge up another $400 and get a low end iMac.  You won't regret it.

I was set to enter the academy. I turned it down. Bast is the computer scientist.

How do people in today's day and age not know whether a 2ghz processor is fast enough or not? Everything but the graphics card is fine. That g-card is a piece of shit, however.

Not everybody is like you, who spends all your time shut up in your dorm room playing video games and posting on internet message boards without getting a life.  :-\

Get over yourself, kid.  I'm in the market for a new computer, that's why I clicked on this thread.  Little did I know at the time that Getbig's mouthiest little twat was here insulting people out of the blue.

Well, Nick Hersh from University of Connecticut, have a great day. ;)

Hands down the biggest cop out I've ever seen after someone was exposed for being an obsessive little stalker who searches my posting history. That's absolutely pathetic, and pretty sickening that you're so insecure you can't even stand behind your own internet insults.

hahahaha, BERZERKOWNED. You're not worth the time anymore, you don't even have the balls to stand on your own two feet.  ;)

If I didn't know your real name is Nick Hersh, I'd suspect from the bitchy, catty tone of your posts that you're a chick. :-*

hahahaha, dance puppet dance. It makes me laugh knowing a grown man searches my posting history, replies like an obsessive stalker and then backs down from his insult when he gets called on it. Insecurity just oozes from your posts.

Either way, to keep this thread on track. It's a decent computer.
