Tim,

You should have qualified his sexual orientation before answering that question, although if he's moving to Chelsea, he'll be gay soon enough.

So true.  No one intentionally moves to Chelsea unless they are gay or are seriously bicurious.     :-X

If you're straight and intend to train at David Barton's, you better bring a garbage can top to cover your bunghole ;D

steel gym's prob ideal.

there's also 24/7 fitness (open 24 hours, 7 days) on 14th between 5th and 6th ave.  very spartan, but some big, strong lifters.

LOL

Chelsea Piers has serious equipment, great views and hot chicks. The downside is that it's a little farther removed at 21st & west side highway, and the prices are higher.

19th st. & Barton gyms are the best hardcore gyms, 19th with more flexible payment options Barton with more energy. Steele's a little small and has changed management several times over the years under different names.

Get some free visits to all these gyms first.

Lots of BBs seen at the Boston Market at 23rd near 8th for the cheap eats.

Epic hoser generalizations.

it use to be quite true, but now chelsea is too expensive for pretty much everyone.  $3000 a month for a run down one bedroom is too much for me.  (I use to live on 18th between 6 and 7).  Most of the gay bars and dance clubs in Chelsea are long gone.   Lots of gays moving to Brooklyn and Washington Heights.  Lots of clubs opening up there too.

Pumpster, what would you know about hot chicks? This is your house you posted on bodybuilding.com. I don't see you getting a piece of ass up there bro. You ever even clean the place?

I'll bet Pumpsters neighbors love him with all that racket he must make. Gym equipment belongs in a garage or a basement. Something with a concrete floor. Shit, I forgot. Pumpster lives in a one room efficiency apartment in a tenement.

Just the idea of bringing all that junk into a small bedroom like that and have it occupy 90% of the space is fucking crazy. Especially considering he only use it for 3 hours tops a week. Rest of the time it's just standing there.

No doubt the hardest hard core gym in NY is the MID-City Gym, in Chelsea/hells kitchen area.
