what happened to the dog? is he ok?

i had my first dog emergency 2 days and i was definetly in panic mode.  had my dog over at a park and there is a wooded area we walk through where i usually let her off the leash because she likes to run after squierel, deer, ect.  when we got out of the area i notice that she has multiple little bumps on her body and see that one of her eyes is swollen and seemed to be getting worse by the minute.  so i immediately snatched her up into the car and drove like a maniac to the nearest vet. it was busy but lucky the vet took her right into the back.  he said she had been bitten by something. possible got herself into a bee hive. anyway he said he gave her a high dose of fast acting cortisone/dexamethasone in her vein. thankfully the bumps and her eye which was huge and swollen shut by the time i got there started to go down.  he did tell me its always a good idea to keep some benadyl on hand should anything like that ever happen again.
