Title: My take on Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN *SPOILER FREE*
Post by: Pollux on September 01, 2007, 04:53:57 AM
It was very good! Rob Zombie did a good job.

It was interesting to see the hows and whys Michael Myers acts the way he does and his obsession with 'the mask'.  8)

Oh, and you get to see Danielle Harris topless.  :-* :-* :-*

But I wouldn't call that a 'spoiler'. More of an incentive.  ;D

The question is, is it a worth comparison to the first one or is it just good? The first one is easily one of the best movies ever made and living up to that is tough.

Hmmmm...well...I'll say it's just good because the first one was very eerie. Rob Zombie's version didn't really give you that feeling.

Pollux, you see a lot of movies. Would you be interested in being the E boards movie critic? We could give you a sticky and people could get your take on movies before shelling out the cash for them.

Wow! I REALLY appreciate the consideration, Danielson!  :)

Unfortunately, what happened to me last night sealed the coffin for me and the movie theater. I have had MANY bad experiences with going to the movie theater. From people talking amongst each other, cell phones, bringing babies, etc.

I tried to give one last chance for the sake of Halloween, but I have thrown the gauntlet down and said NEVER again. I'm just gonna go down the route of buying the movie when it comes to DVD and watching it at home.

I don't think I'd be the best candidate since I won't be going to the movie theater anymore. But again, thanks for the consideration.  :)

Yeah, I hate going at night. Weeknights while the kids are in school is one thing, but not on the weekends. Let me know if you change your mind. We really do need an official critic and you seem the most qualified imo. Perhaps you would be interested in critiquing the new fall TV shows when they start playing?

WHAT? That was the best ever...the music, the images you see after where he was at and the breathing....it is hard to do a remake of such a great movie....the remake of chainsaw massacre was good and i was surprised

No, it's not as good as the first one. The early Michael stuff is pretty good, but after that it just descends into the usual slasher film shenanigans. As someone else mentioned, there are some nice breasts on display.

Here it is to watch:

Yea, bro definitely pick up #2, i paid $5.50 for it and the story unfolds.....3 was terrible.....4 and 5 were OK if you are a fan...then the story went horrible...i remember some girl got killed in one and it was supposed to be Jamie Lee Curtis, "his sis" and he killed her.....but she hid her baby....then h20 and some other one....you can kill the dude so many times and it gets old....i like Friday the 13th series except #9...Freddy is also good if you like the old ones

Don't worry bluto i am still waiting on Cobra 2.....
