Of course it is.

Why the hell would bodybuilders start out in lighter weight classes and move on to heavier as they grow older?

And when did you see a 6'3'' guy @19 years of age being as developed as Lee Priest or Padilla was at that age?

It is only hard if you are tall and an ectomorph.

Also both men you mentioned juiced form an early age and probaly ahd 5 years at least lifting experience.

Mention one tall guy, 6'3'' or above, on the juice or natural, who looked as good as Lee Priest @19.

There is a 20 year old in my gym who is about 6'2-6'3 and 240 at roughly the same condition I'm in.  I feel he is the exception though.

im talking in general. it is not harder to add mass.

If you are bigger more muscle more fibres can add muscle just as easily.

I can't speak for anyone else, but it's always been a bit of a challenge.  Not necessarily the adding of muscle, but the rate at which a taller BB looks filled out.

I am 6'2", and I've been as high as 280 (but that was sloppy as hell!).  I last competed @ 227, but every year I'm a bit heavier and improve my condition.

If 2 BBers both add 10 lbs, of course the 5'8" guy is gonna look more improved than the taller guy.  That's simple math.

Let's see any kind of evidence of this theory of yours.

I wouldn't want to be a short guy for anything, but they fill out much quicker.

On the other hand, if a tall guy does fill out, a shorty can never compete.

Look at Arnold, he just blew Franco off the stage.

My thoughts exactly. An average male at 6'3" tall is 225lbs on average. So 240lb is nothing special at all. When you hit the 260-290lb range at that height then you're talking.

The tall bodybuilders need to be realistic about that it will take much longer for them to fill out.

Toney Freeman is a great example, he's closing in on 40, and is just starting to be where he should be.

Had he rushed things, he could've very well ended up looking like Greg Kovacs.

Armon Shulz (spelling?) was doing legs with us today. He is about my height (6'3"). And a complete monster.

But he is definitely the exception.

All the other pros have been under 5'10".

Goudy, you are smoking weed if you do not think it is harder to fill out a larger frame. It is simple logic, physics, economics and aesthetics. For example, how much does it cost to feed and supplement a guy who weights 265lbs versus a guy who weights 195lbs (it is more expensive)? Or, if a 5'3" guy has a squat range of motion of 4" and a 6'3" guy has a range of 16", who has a harder time performing the squat (it is more strenuous)? Or, if a 5'3" guy has a .25" gap between his bicep and forearm and the 6'3" guy has a proportionate gap of 1.25", whose arms looks bigger (it is less aesthetic)?

However, I will say that once the taller guy does fill out proportionately, he will blow away nearly any shorter guy.

you could argue that but then you could also argue that the taller person is generating more force and velocity by moving the weight over a greater distance therefore getting better results, couldn't you?

it is alot harder.  Look at a 6'3 guy with 18 inch arms, then a 5'8 guy with 18s.  The 5'8 guy looks much more impressive.

Only if they dropped the weight and bounced at the bottom. But even then, the taller person is moving it 4 times as far each way (up and down). So in order to build enough momentum on the way down to bounce it all the way back up, you will tear something. Or break your ribs for bench press.

Cannot argue that if you are moving the weight with control. It goes back to angles (of you arm - the hinge) and physics.

That's my point exactly.  I know that it's gonna take longer, but as long as I continue to make progress I am happy and continue to enjoy training.

I don't have any delusions of turning pro, but if I could manage a weight class win on the state level, I could walk away happy.

Forgive me for not knowing but how tall are you? I'm gonna assume I'm taller.

Basically a longer arm looks less thick automatically unless it's carrying extra muscle to compensate. For plenty of guys above average height the required extra width and depth is unattainable. Lee Priest's 22 inchers proportionally would have to be matched on a 6' 6" guy by 30 inchers or something crazy. This is not possible. Basically, of course it's f*cking harder, are you stupid? ::)

420 ripped is simply not possible for a human being of his height but 280 at 6'3" and a half isn't, with as much as you brag and talk about how big and strong you are you should be at least 280 at your height in shape and benching 405 for 7-8 reps at least.

Exactly, Gunther is approx 280-300 on stage and not quite 6'3".  If there are so many tall guys out there why are they not dominating BB with 300+ lb onstage weights, especially if it is easier for them to fill out vs a shorter guy?

yep, and i'm not saying that Goudy would have to be anywhere near as ripped as Gunther just maybe able to see the outline of abs on the sides, as much as Goudy talks about how easy it is to be some huge beast why is he only 225 at almost 6'4" and not even that ripped?

1 in 100 people are 6'3 or over.

Most tall people do real sports.

At 21 very few people in teh world can rep 405 naturally. At your fatness and ROM you should be doing it also.

what you are saying is that is it possible for someone my height to get to 420 ripped?

I dont boast or brag not much to brag about. I am in good shape wioth decent strength for my weight age etc. Im happy. If god spares me i have 20 more years to keep getting stronger

if you don't boast or brag then why do you post clips on youtube of yourself lifting mediocre weights and talk about how you're one of the best built getbiggers?

1 in 100 people are 6'3 or over.

Most tall people do real sports.

At 21 very few people in teh world can rep 405 naturally. At your fatness and ROM you should be doing it also.

what you are saying is that is it possible for someone my height to get to 420 ripped?

YES! Suckhisownmuscle who claims to be a genius says Kovaks was at one time 440 in ripped condition. That may have been the dumbest statement ever uttered in Getbig history.

still lean enough to fucck your mom and sister for hours an end. ;D
Hard words coming from the guy, who hasn't fuc*k anything but his own hands, a neighbors cat and some pigeons from the backyard. What was that other forum where your proudly told everybody, that your record from limp dick to limp dick was 90 seconds? That was almost as good record as your record of most useless crap written with two fingers in 24 hours.

6'3.5"

i posted  apic of it before over 15" i do have freaky big and strong forearms even befoe i touched a weight.

http://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=67358.0

I think while a lot of guys have great physiques i wouldnt choose them over mine despte them being far more developed, mainly cos i think size with a decent build is much more impressive. just my opinion.

if you read it it says that i would rather be my size and my physique (including height) as a whole rather than 5'6 with a more developed physique.

also that does not say i am one of the best built getbiggers. Its my preference to be my height with a less developed physique than smaller in height with a more developed physique.

nice to know you and SF are trawling through my previous posts.

care to post a picture yourself?

the guy deadlifts over 600 pounds, just because he doesn't brag and put his videos on youtube doesn't mean that he isn't big and strong.

It is not harder to fill out if you are taller. Stop yapping about it.

yes it is. you're so wrong it's absurd. thanks for playing.

if it wasn't, tall bodybuilders wouldn't be so rare. there's a reason lee priest has so much muscle he looks overloaded but guys like sean allen struggle.

i could get into the science behind it but i doubt you'd listen.

dude looks pretty wide to me. given that he ain't a bodybuilder that tells me he's every bit as strong as he says. definitely has my deadlift beat, the bastard.  >:(

Hedge is a strong bastard and looking at that back you can tell he moves some weight on deadlifts and rows for sure.

i won't say what YOU should do bit if it was ME, i wouldn't put anything under a 405 for 7-8 bench, 600 for 8-10 squat, same thing on deads, 300-315 seated shoulder press for 6 on youtube.

FWIW Goudy, I think you have an awesome physique, and is a strong mofo as well.

I've posted that several times, just don't see the reason doing it again (now I did it anyway).

I just think that if you want members giving you the "oohhs" and "ahhhs" when you're making blatant attempts at self-promoting... Getbig may not be the optimal environment. 8)

BTW, how are you doing on the CoC's?
