Atlas was awsome....Ivan Putski was pretty damn good back in the day, he competed at the national level I think...I could be wrong...

hahahhaa, here's a funny clip with Tony from the old Piper's Pit segment, you have to be at least 32-33 to remember that, Tony's build reminds me alot of Sergio Oliva's.

hahahahhaa, here's an awesome funny clip from what has to be 1973 or 1974 with Tony and Ken Patera with Ken calling Tony out, wrestling is nowhere near this entertaining anymore. ;D

Awesome physique, way ahead of other wrestlers including Hogan, and better than most BBs. Natural size; still big now. Unfortunately he was of the earlier wrestling generation that didn't make much money.
Ron Simmons in the 80s was also impressive; played on the defensive line in the CFL before wrestling.

Supafly could barely mumble but had huge shredded quads and used to launch himself into the air high above the ring so he could come down on some poor schmuck who just laid there like he was paid to. Go to love the golden years of wrestling! Good stuff! 8)

he was smuggling cigerette's for the mob...messed with the wrong people and one night his family came home and he was sitting in a chair in the living room with about 500 bullet holes in him......
I know a guy who eats, sleeps and just lives wrastling so he knows a bunch of inside stuff, he tried out for the WWE as an officail and it's literally his life...the stuff he's told me is funny as hell..

Looks like Atlas was wearing a diaper in that clip. I thought Patera had blonde hair. Atlas looked young and a little smaller than he was in the first clip you posted.

yeah he was still big but probably wasn't hitting the sauce as hard in that clip, i just looked and that clip was 1978 which would have made him 33 or 34 in that clip but he looks younger than that, you can tell looking at him that he had some damn good genetics.

Pustki is a school custodian here in Austin, TX. He has shrunk drastically. He struggles with 25's on the bench bar these days. It doesn't matter. He's a really nice, approachable guy. Very friendly and outgoing, but just a shell of his former physical self

thats a good point, but the bodies where better back in the 70's, they didnt get tans, shave their body hair, get ripped and wear girlie shorts, like pillowtalk. They were real men 8)

He was voted the Most Popular Wrestler of the Year by PWI in 1984.
His win over Ric Flair for the NWA Heavyweight Title was named Match of the Year by PWI in 1984.
His NWA Heavyweight Title win over Ric Flair remains a classic and after winning the title he received one of the most emotional ovations in wrestling history.
He won the NWA Heavyweight Title in the main event of a show paying tribute to his late brother.
He was a big draw in WCCW, as shows that had him headlining sold out easily.
He was able to wrestle for over an hour on a regular basis.
He lost his foot in a motorcycle accident.
After the accident, he wrestled the rest of his career with one foot and still put on great performances.

I see - I thought you were taking the piss before ;D
Anyway, in his prime, when he was still in one piece, he had a great build. But my favorite wrestler is Brett Hart. The British bulldog was a f*cking tank too (Davey boy Smith)

Hahahaha aren't you the guy who saw Rowdy Roddy Piper and told him to drop his kilt so you can get rowdy with his rod or pipe? :-X

I heard he was wrastlin a match back in the day againts Mr. Perfect and his leg actually fell off...he rolled outside the ring and under the ring and was gone for a little while....I guess he was under there re-attaching it.
The Von Ericks have a very "wierd" history...lots of them are dead or died under wierd circumstances, kerry commited suicide.

and here's confirmation:
On June 4, 1986, Kerry was in a motorcycle accident that nearly ended his life and left him with a dislocated hip and a badly injured right leg. Doctors eventually had to amputate his right foot. (According to brother Kevin, Kerry injured the foot following surgery by attempting to walk on it prematurely, crushing the bones beyond repair and thus forcing the doctors to amputate it.) He was able to continue wrestling after the accident with a fused ankle.
Kerry was able to keep his amputation secret for a while. However, during a match on an AWA card in Las Vegas against Colonel DeBeers, Kerry's secret was exposed. During the bout, DeBeers ended up on the outside, but he grabbed Kerry's foot and tried to pull him out of the ring. However, he ended up pulling off Kerry's boot with the prosthetic foot attached.
A lot of wrestlers said after his foot was amputated(they didn;t know either) Kerry would shower with his boots on....

there were a couple of guys at another gym i trained at who said that Tony Atlas came to their old gym here in St. Louis when he came to town for a few matches and they both said they saw him work up to 585 on the bench for a single, Dino Bravo was also supposedly a beast on the bench, Ken Patera has to be one of the strongest and Bruno Sammartino was reportedly extremely strong.

Dino Bravo benched 715 or something like that with one hell of a spot on one of the wrestling shows. I think the mob killed him.

that was fake weight, in reality he benched around 530-540 for a single, still EXTREMELY strong for a pro wrestle ror anyone else for that matter, that clip was fake as the day is long though, if you remember it showed him "benching" 600 for like 10-12 like it was a toy, no one in the world does that.
-

I don't remember, but if it were fake he wouldn't have needed a spot. That spotter really fkn helped him.

yeah it was fake, no one benches 600 for 10-12 effortless reps like it's 225 even with Bill Kazmaier spotting.

Probably was fake, but I don't understand why he didn't put a weight on he could have handled without a spotter.

Not sure if Ken Patera was mentioned but he was strong as hell
